Internationally acclaimed narrator Eric Martin is a recipient of the Gold Medal Award for narration and the National Communicator Award of Excellence. His command of the English language brings out the timeless poetry and spiritual wealth of the King James Bible. He imparts the Bible's divine truth in a sincere and compelling manner, enhancing the listener's spiritual perception and adding new dimensions to one's understanding of the sacred texts.
Martin is a born-again Christian who lends his support to many Jewish and Christian ministries. His work proclaiming God's word is deeply rooted in Romans 10:17: "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
Note: Due to unavoidable constraints on the original recording, the books of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes are out of sequence in this program.

"Eric Martin narrates the holy Bible from the heart, and with full respect for the contextual settings of the words he reads. He is a passionate reader, and his conviction cannot but impact the listener. His command of the poetic language of the King James Bible brings out its incredible richness, revealing aspects of its truth which would otherwise be lost. I can therefore fully endorse this excellent narration, and encourage others to benefit from listening to it." (Bishop Timothy J. Walker, Fort Worth, Texas)
"Very Clear Diction"
Every word is clearly, meticulously pronounced, including every difficult Bible name.
The Bible tends to be difficult to understand because of the old King James English. Because of this it tends to be difficult to read. In audio book form I'm finding it is much easier to follow and understand.
Some of the reviewers are critical of Eric Martin's reading performance. Remember, he is reading this as an audiobook, not commenting on it or dramatizing it as as clergymen often do. Eric Martin is speaking every word of the Bible as succinctly as possible. After listening to it a while I really do agree with this sort of neutral approach.
Face it -- few people will go to the effort of reading the Bible cover-to-cover as they would other types of books. This audiobook version of the Bible is a tremendous value and I wish I would have thought of purchasing it long ago. No matter how many sermons you've sat through, no matter how many verses you've turned to, if you listen to the Bible in this audiobook form you will likely find yourself quite surprised as I have by the actual content of this book. Don't be put off by the neutral reading style -- the Bible stories themselves are the true content.

"Very Disappointed"
I downloaded this to listen to while out jogging and walking. The narration is at a very rapid pace in almost a monotone. There is no emotion to the reading. It is so uninspiring it becomes white noise. I am looking for another reading that can keep my attention.
"theres a background voice I can hear =/"
I started listening to this book about a year ago and then stopped, now I'm trying to give it a go a second time, but the thing is, I can hear him reading the book, but just faintly I can hear someone else in the background. I dont know if he was in a room where another person was recording a different book or what??? Even though its very low compared to the narrator, its VERY distracting to me. I also dont care for the narrators voice. Theres no emotion to it and its just not pleasing to my ears. I want to listen to it so bad but find my mind either straining to pay attention to his words that just blend in together due to the way he is reading it, and straining to block out that other person reading or talking or whatever. I think I'm gonna download a different one and see how it goes.
"what a disappointment; not really usable"

When God told Sarah she was going to have a baby, and Sarah laughed, (Sarah being 90 years old and Abraham 100 years old), like God can't do it --and God can. I am 62 years old, my body feels like a 20 year old. God Can Do it!
When Jesus said to His Father (God), "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.
Yes, definitely!
God is good all the time, and all the time God is good!

"Wonderfully Read!"
Definitively as it is a brilliant yet clear reading of the word of God ... my fellow Lutheran's I highly recommend this to you an all seeking the truth.
John the Baptist tied with Judas as I believe they are both not given proper credit...
There is no one scene nor depiction as I simply love this book fully.
God Bless all whom have read this review.
"Excellent resource for scriptural memorization!"
The gospel is brought to life by the animated narration. The words are pronounced clearly with emphasis where needed.
