"Christian author and motivational speaker Andrews effectively combines self-help with fiction to catch readers' interest, sustaining momentum while simultaneously passing on instructions for positive thinking." (Publishers Weekly)
"Little Heavy Handed but still an uplifting read"
Yes, I like to read and listen to book that make you feel motivated and positive and recommend on that basis.
Good voices, was easy to remember which character was which. That can be difficult to follow in an audiobook sometimes.
Follow this man's uplifting journey as he discovers the secrets to life
I'm a sucker for these kind of books with the good message. Reminded me of the classic Christmas movie "It's a Wonderful Life". It was a little heavy handed and formulaic with how it progressed, but I think the heart was in the right place. Good for boosting your enthusiasm and focusing on the positive. I would put this more at the self help/development side of books rather than just straight fiction.

"Very Real and Inspiring"
I liked having the author read it. I feel that gave it more importance and made me understand exactly the point he was trying to make.
David Ponder learns many lessons throughout the book. I think he is attempting to be the "Average Joe" but at some points he comes off as being immature and ignorant. But, in the end he learns the lessons he is intended to and redeems himself.
He put EVERYTHING into perspective. So often we forget about problems of the past because we get caught up in our daily life. The past is there to provide lessons that can, in fact, be very helpful for today's world.
This book gave me the chills the entire time I read it. It struck an emotion within me that I had no idea I had. Andy Andrews gave me a gift of wisdom, perspective, and most importantly, clear examples. After reading the book, I researched all 7 people David Ponder met. Each person had an amazing and TRUE story that serves as an example.

"Inspiring!"
Great Story!
In the beginning when the main character was having such a hard time then his life went from bad to worse...could identify with the emotions. As the story unfolded it was such an inspiring experience it made me remember that God is good and life experiences can make a person bitter or better...it's our choice.
"The Traveler's Gift"
I really enjoyed the story line of the book. It is very positive and uplifting. I like the idea of using historical characters to establish common sense thinking. It is always encouraging to see writers communicating strong moral conviction in a practical way.
I enjoyed the thinking involved in the conversation with Harry Truman the most. Making a decision to drop the atomic bomb is fascinating and feeling like you were a fly on the wall listening to his thoughts was really eye opening.
I am afraid that I would not be able to listen to Andy Andrews read any other books. As much as I loved the book, Andy was really hard for me to listen to reading. I only finished listening to the book because I had promised a friend. I did enjoy the book, but felt like I would have enjoyed it more, if I had just taken the time to actually read the book.
"Great Points, Okay Story"
See Headline above.
Expected and predictable.
I thought the core, overall point(s), of the book was very good and applicable to life. It is very easy to listen to and understand. The story itself feels a little contrived at times, and Mr. Andrews narration took a little getting used to at the beginning.
"BEST READ!!"
Yes! I learned so much! It challenged me to be a better me. I am now reading som of Andy Andrews other material and am very impressed. Blessed by his work!!!
"Redeming Love" by Francine Rivers. They equally challenged me
His ability to graciously introduce characters from years past to bring them to life!
How to succeed!
This was an amazing read!
"Not "As A Man Thinketh", but inspiring"
Possibly later. Many other books on my list ahead of it.
The Truman part, I'm from Missouri
Truman dialogue
Atlas Trying To Shrug
"Wonderful Story - I highly recommend"
inspiring, motivational, reflective
I can't name one book so I will have to say motivational self help books.
All of the short stories were wlll done and opened my mind to new possibilities that I realize I had been closed-minded about before.
I sure think it is a great idea to reflect on the thoughts and negative beliefs I have had in the past and be more openminded.
I plan on relistening to this audio again and again as I am sure there will be new insights each time.
"One of my favourite books!!"
Its the best book I've come across on audible.com.
Think and Grow Rich, The Secret, Tapping The Source but it has in it an amazing story that unfolds giving you shivers up your spine reminding us of our true powerful nature.
Much more emotion and dynamics.
Yes, David Ponders last meeting...wow
I'm recommending this to all of my best friends. Thank you Andy Andrews for this amazing book.
"Surprising read"
This books was a surprise to me. It was given to me to read by our owner group so I had no idea about the content. I was expecting another business related case study, but what I got was a fantastic story with inspirational characters. It approached the topic of professional development from a completely unexpected perspective. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking to focus on personal development.
