Publisher's Summary

The embattled Republic reels from the attacks of Grand Admiral Thrawn, who has marshaled the remnants of the Imperial forces and driven the Rebels back with an abominable technology recovered from the Emperor's secret fortress: clone soldiers. As Thrawn mounts his final siege, Han and Chewbacca struggle to form a coalition of smugglers for a last-ditch attack against the empire, while Leia holds the Alliance together and prepares for the birth of her Jedi twins.

Overwhelmed by the ships and clones at Thrawn's command, the Republic has one last hope: sending a small force, led by Luke Skywalker, into the very stronghold that houses Thrawn's terrible cloning machines. There a final danger awaits, as the Dark Jedi C'baoth directs the battle against the Rebels and builds his strength to finish what he had already started: the destruction of Luke Skywalker.

    "UNABRIDGED! Finally hear it all."

We finally get to hear the entirety of The Thrawn Trilogy. This book was well produced, Marc Thompson did a great job as normal. If you've made it this far in the Trilogy you won't be disappointed.

    "Thrawn trilogy--three credits well spent!!"

The narrator--wow, was there really only one!--made each voice so distinctive, expressive, and believable, even for someone like me who has watched the original movies so many times. I tried reading the trilogy because my daughter loved it so, but I kept bogging down and only got about half through this book. When all three came out in unabridged form I got them. What seemed a little hokey and very hard to follow in print came alive in these audiobooks. The story really was great. It was like having those other three installments to the 9-movie series once talked about. It really was as good as a movie. Truly five stars in every way--the story, the narration, and the production quality.

    "Great Conclusion to the Trilogy"
If you could sum up Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy, Book 3: The Last Command in three words, what would they be?

After listening to the first 2 books in this series I couldn't wait to hear the third. It does not disappoint in bringing the entire story to a conclusion

What was one of the most memorable moments of Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy, Book 3: The Last Command?

I will not say what was the most memorable moment as I do not want to spoil it for anyone.

What about Marc Thompson’s performance did you like?

It is amazing how many voices this guy can come up with, in particular he does a very good Han Solo and Lando

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes I wish I could have listened to it in one sitting, but its way to long too.

    Any additional comments?

    Loved the entire Trilogy

"Fantastic story, very true to the star wars world"
Where does Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy, Book 3: The Last Command rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    One of the best

What other book might you compare Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy, Book 3: The Last Command to and why?

It compares to return of the jedi, it has all the classic starwars feel and excited without being ruined by the horrible new prequels

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No but I couldn't stop listening

    Any additional comments?

I am now addicted to all the star wars novels

    "Very good"
What made the experience of listening to Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy, Book 3: The Last Command the most enjoyable?

I had never heard or read this part of Star Wars. Thrawn was a master but too power hungry and too sure of himself.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Thrawn, very good but too sure of himself

What about Marc Thompson’s performance did you like?

He did a great job and you forgot who you were listening to which is a sign of a good narrator.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and know. It was easy to get back into and is great to listen to over again.

    Any additional comments?

    It's worth your time.

    "Excellent listen"
What about Marc Thompson’s performance did you like?

I'm usually not impressed with "theatrical" narrations but this was wonderful - just the right amount of special effects to complement the story without adding confusion or feeling contrived. Marc Thompson's voices for all the various characters were spot on.

    "Great story, Great reader"
Would you consider the audio edition of Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy, Book 3: The Last Command to be better than the print version?

I loved the print version when it was first released, but Marc Thompson has a way of making the characters come alive. I have forgotten what Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill or Carrie Fisher actually sound like. Marc's voices for Han, Luke and Leia are 'real' for me now.

"Great wrap up of the series"

The end of the book was sort of rushed. They could have taken more time with the last events. Otherwise, the book makes me want to find more Star Wars books.

"Classic Star Wars from Before Lucas Ruined It"

This is classic Star Wars. If you miss the universe from before Lucas ruined things with the prequels, this is what you're looking for. I wish this series had been made into episodes VII, VIII, and IX as long as Lucas had kept his hands off it.
