"I've listened to this audio book dozens of times"
Zig Ziglar speaks the truth in such an entertaining way that it's easy to listen to and he's great to learn from. I've listened to this series of talks dozens of times and I'm still not tired of them. Great life lessons that when embraced and used can only change ones life for the better.
"Motivation"
Although a bit repititous and yes, Ziglar has a very thick accent, I found this to be a very motivational collection of speeches. I have listen to and read many books on leadership & motivation and learned quite a few new things in this book.
"This title is at the top of my "must own" list"
This is one of my favorite Audible purchases to date. Zig is engaging, humorous, motivating, and inspiring. He does a great job of keeping you interested throughout and teaches valuable life lessons that can benefit anyone. This is more of a group of live performances than it is an audio book, but it makes it that much more interesting to listen to. Very highly recommended!
Zig Ziglar, of course!
"Lessons from a Master motivator"
The use of humor to get his point across; insights into hard and smart work. Mr. Ziglar shares stories from his own past and the examples of others to help illustrate the points he makes.
I would recommend this book to my friends. Now, some of my friends see 'success' as a matter of luck or fate--and surely there is an element of luck/fate that plays a role. However, "fate favors the prepared mind"... as one famous golfer put it (I think it was Lee Trevino, but not sure) "Golf is a game of luck... the harder I work, the luckier I get." Mr. Ziglar talks about the mental attitude and habits that you can adopt that can greatly improve your chances at success (whether 'success' financially, socially, personally, or however the listener would define 'success').
He has good timing, rate, and vocal inflection that helps communicate his point. I also enjoyed the energy that he brings to his delivery... his sincerity and enthusiasm helps communicate the message more than just reading the words. I also liked that I could listen to it while out hiking or in my car during the commute...:)
It was... it is a long book. I listened to much of it during a long hike... and the rest during my commute one day. I will listen to it again... of that I have no doubt.
I have often heard of Zig Ziglar. After listening to this book, I would consider him to be a cross between the traditionalist beliefs and examples of Napoleon Hill, and the energy and personalized delivery of Anthony Robbins...:) I plan on getting some more of his books to listen to in the future...:)
"Great is an Understatement"
This guy is so full of life and vibrance that his passion literally radiates into your body through your ears! Not just good stories but experiences that will help get your engine running! Absolutely amazing!
Bi-Vocational Pastor/Draftsman. Full time husband and dad. Audiobooks are a staple in my life because I can read and work...
"Often repetitive..."
While i like the simple motivation and illustrations of the author, i found the Series, which encompasses several of his talks, was rather repetitive and maybe knowing this i would have found a way to get the specific talks i wanted. hope this helps.
Self made, independent deep thinker, who never follows blindly just because you told me to! Man for others...
"Clear and simple"
I love Zig's voice as I listened to his inflections, pauses, accents, as well as the simple stories to paint clear pictures of the points being made. His simple humor, southern charm, and human connections create a blend of things that make you feel like he is your friend talking to you. He is not preaching just bringing you in touch with things we may have not learned clearly in our journey. His many points clearly remind us all of the work we have to do internally to be better people.
Inspirational, moving, enlightening
This is a book to listen to over and over, once straight through, and then a chapter at a time to find things that were important to you. It was like bodybuilding for your brain, soul, and personality.
Something I will listen to over and over to help remind myself of things I can work on to be a better human being, a better friend, a better father, teacher.....and the list goes on.
"Heartfelt story line that made it real"
Infromative, inspiring and motivating
Love it...entertaining at the same time he provides proven strategies to increase sales!
I did cry because he touches on the nerve that holds some of us back...our self-image.
Would highly recommend this series!
"A Master Storyteller"
I love hearing Zig tell inspiring stories. I am a coach so there are even some that I like to remember and tell my players.
7 Habits of Highly Effective People - Stephen Covey
No, I liked listening to it periodically when I had the time.
"fun to listen to"
What a great speaker. his laugh is wonderful. His message worth hearing over and over until you apply
