Lucy Delacourt's temp position isn't quite her dream job but it pays the bills. The highlight of her day is riding the elevator in the mornings with a handsome stranger. Tall, dark, and sexy as hell, Lucy knows he's way out of her league, but a girl can look, right? Everything changes the day the stranger seduces her. Completely out of character, she yields without a fight, but she has no idea her wanton acts with a man whose name she doesn't know will change her life forever. Because the sexy stranger is none other than Jeremiah Hamilton, billionaire CEO of Hamilton Industries, and one taste isn't nearly enough to satisfy his need. As the billionaire pulls Lucy deeper into his world of high stakes business deals and ruthless takeovers, he demands nothing less than her complete surrender. But even as enemies seek deadly revenge against him, she’ll discover that her greatest threat is falling for her fiercely guarded boss…and yielding to her own darkest needs.

“I love all genres of books, however when I listen to audio books as I clean, garden, drive they are better with a lot of heat!
"Good Story With Some Good Sex"
I got this book expecting erotica and that is exactly what I got and boy was it hot. Loved this book and look forward to the next installment the series. It takes a good author to do good sex and Sara knows what she is doing. Who hasn't had the fantasy about being in and elevator alone with a handsome man who takes advantage of it. Loved it and recommend it highly. Has a good story besides some hot reading.
"A lot of room for improvement"
I have mixed feeling about this book. There were parts I loved but the majority of it really grated on my nerves. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted to buy the sequel however the thought of being subjected to another 8 hrs of poor writing is too much to bear. I felt like I was listening to 50 Shades of Grey and no, that's not a compliment. Along with a completely foolish and ridiculous "story line" (if you can even call it that) Sarah Fawkes' ability to repeat herself incessantly is impressive. Between E.L. and this author I never, EVER want to hear the word murmur again. In fact, I think it should be banned from erotica novels. There is no way two people can murmur that often. I'm also getting tired of the typical, plain, inexperienced, naive heroine whose life is on hold until a rich and powerful man comes along. But not to save her. Inevitably his lifestyle manages to put her in danger. How original...no one's ever done that one before. Fan fiction much?
As for the narrator, Clarissa Knightly, I agree with some of the other reviews stating she sounded a bit old for the part. However I think she still did a bang up job. Her characters were easily identifiable and she put a lot of emotion into it.
Not unless I was desperate.
Exciting, convincing and satisfying. She made a bad book tolerable.
None of them. If anything there were too few characters.
If you're sick of reading the same story over and over again from authors lacking talent and originality you've got to check out the "Original Sinners Series" by Tiffany Reisz. The heroin, Nora Sutherlin, will rock your socks! Powerful, unique and extremely well written. Every book has a different narrator which might not suit everyone's tastes. The first two narrators are great, the last one drove me nuts. Still...the book was worth it.
"50 Shades with Action and suspense"
Yes, I would listen this book again like I did with 50 Shades of Gray series. I love Jeremiah's tormented soul. This book has stream sex, action, suspense all in one.
Lucy and Jeremiah's first interaction in the elevator.
Lucy and Jeremiah's first interaction in the elevator.
This is a series. I did not realize it when I bought this book. However, I am glad it is a series b/c I want more of Lucy and Jeremiah characters to development. Also, the ending of the book was a cliff hanger. I can't wait for the next one and get to know more about Lucas. Jeremiah's brother.
I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
"Funny, Dominate Story!"
I really liked this. The female character is actually quite funny!
This book was very good in how Lucy reacts to each situation. She is a temp office worker who pretty much eye hunch a hotty on the elevator everyday. One day she notice they are alone and he being the dominating man that he (Mr. Jeremiah Hamilton, billionaire CEO of Hamilton Industries) is stops the elevator and well ummm plays with her.
He pretty much fires her from her job and hires her as his personal assistant to do anything he wants. This is a raunchy, erotic, romantic novel... but it is actually really really good. Like on the level of romantic contemporary. There is alot of smex, but it is written into the story so well, you don't really notice that it is raunchy. In fact, it makes the story better. I loved it. This is good buy or free credit. I wish they had more of Fawkes stuff on here.
Clarissa Knightly did an awesome job. At first I thought she was totally gonna bomb the male part b/c of the deep raspy voice when she first talks as Jeremiah, but it totally worked. I found myself loving Jeremiah more than Lucy right around the end of chapter 1! So kudos to u Knightly. Still no Xe Sands... but very good narration.
"Really good... waiting on sequal!!"
As with any book I listen to I can really take in the words rather than having to re-read lines or papragraphs. I enjoyed the narrator as well.
The fact that it wasn't as Fifty Shades as I expected it to be by the summary I had read. No offense to Fifty Shades as I've already read that series twice! I was happy that the story seemed to veer off just enough that I was not always comparing it to Fifty.
When Lucy was rescued
When she was told "no" to love
I read on Sara's blog that she entends to 'Definitly" continue this series but I'm hoping it does not take forever ...the ending was too abrupt for my liking.
"Excellent storyline entertained with great sex!"
I would highly recommend it to friends who enjoy this type of book. The D/s is so well written.
The Jennifer Probst Millionnaire series if I had to compare but totally different in many ways. ;)
The punishment In the boathouse.
When Luke shows back up.
I can't wait for more in the series!
I am a mother and grandmother and soon to be married in 2014. I love to read all different kinds of books. I have kindle books and audio paperbacks hardcovers books you name it I got it. My favorite Authors is Brenda Jackson, Rochelle Alerts, Ann Christopher etc..
"Good story but confusion at the end!!"
I would recommend this audio book but I would kinda let them know the ending is confusing.
I really can't pin point what I liked most about the story for me it was all over the place but still had me wanting to continue to listen because I was very intrigued by the plot unfolding in a very settle way. I am really hoping it is going to be a second book..
My favorite scene was actually the end scene where the brother states "let's make him chase us"
I did really have an extreme reaction until Lucy stated she loved him and he rejected her. I thought wow do he even realize he feels the same? I guess we'll know if there is a second book.
Reading some of the other comments got me really excited some stated waiting on the second book and that is what I am hoping for because the ending makes you feel as if there is going to be one.
"Surprisingly good"
I have only listened to the audio version of this book so I can't honestly say. But the narrator did a good job with this story.
I actually enjoyed both of the main characters in this story. One just compliments the other. The author does a great job bringing the both of them to life and allowing you to see how their past and their childhood upbringings molded them into the people they have become.
Yes, once the story opens it immediately captures your attention and your off. At some point and time you can relate to her struggling to just survive. Then in one moment everything changes.
As I stated earlier this book was very surprising as this was not an author I was familiar with. This book will have you from beginning to end, no slow moving parts that simply feel like boring page fillers. By the last line on the last page your already hungry and wanting the next book.
"WOW want more"
Great start to a series. Loved it
The end
When they first met
All of the above
