Ever After: The Hollows, Book 11

I have NEVER felt hopeless during the past ten books, but this one was completely differente. What happened to Rachel and the rest of the gang was (Cant say).. but i really was on my toes waiting to see what will happen.. I couldn't focus at work at all while i was listening to it.... If you don't know about this series then go to the first book and start it... They have been through too much that you can't believe all the changes that happened.

Narration was excellent as always, and Kim gave us a masterpiece... Oh waw what a great book it is.

This book bumps up the relationship I've been waiting for since Rachel squeaked in a cage in Trent's office. If you don't know what that means, just go back to the first book (Dead Witch Walking) and enjoy the complete journey. Kim Harrison's imagination is the best of the best, and Marguerite Gavin provides the unique voices and personalities for a whole bunch of old friends. I eagerly anticipated this book, and it delivered in spades!!!

Perfect, except that it had to end. And bittersweet, for we can sense the end of the series looming. Still, Harrison has created such a rich world with The Hollows series, she can can go in many different paths with offshoot series, short stories, novellas, etc. But that is for another day (when we can't look forward to another Rachel Morgan novel in the offing.) I look forward to the next volume coming out every year -- yes, I even lamely mark it on my calendar. Harrison is one of the few novelist that never fails her fans with slapdash fodder. And she DELIVERS with "Ever After." Virtually every major/minor character from the series makes an appearance in this volume; the action is virtually non-stop and we get to see a lot more of the demons, which I think is a big plus (and some significant character development for Al.) The dialogue is as crisp as always and we get to hear more Jinks-speak (is it me, or are his Tinks' ____ one-liners getting more tame?)

I made myself listen to this when I could devote full attention to the book (not as I usually do, "reading" and multi-tasking.") I am sad only because it will be another year before there will be another Rachel Morgan book coming out.

If you have never read this series, I recommend purchasing "Dead Witch Walking" NOW -- your world will never be the same.

This is an excellent addition to one of my favorite Urban Fantasy series. Kim Harrison writes a beautiful story richly layered with wonderful characters, action, adventure, love, and heart break.

All my favorite characters are in this book and we get a peek at an unexpected side of both Trent Calamack and Al. Make sure to listen or read these books in order for the full experience. Marguerite Gavin does a terrific job with her narration. This is my second favorite in the series second only to Pale Demon.

OMG, I can't believe this book was so good. I was on On The Edge of My Seat. Panting and totally captivated. This is definitely a 5 Star Listen! I have been waiting a long time for Rachel and Trent to come together. Rachel is powerful and together Rachel, Trent, and yes Al; well let’s say there is no stopping them. Finally a lot of the questions were answered about the origins of the Elf’s and the demons. The only negative thing I can say is that the next book is not ready for download. I can’t wait, I want more. Kim Harrison’s Ever After is outstanding. The Narration, by Marguerite Gavin brings this story to life. No one could have done it better.

I LOVE where this story went.

Everyone had to get a little understanding of each other to get past age old hate, to save them all. The world changes for them all anyway. The end of this book opens up a whole new world of options, possibilities and dangers for Rachel and Trent.I hope the Kim Harrison goes there even if it takes Rachel into a different series. It will be sad to leave old friends behind but that makes room for the new. Growth always come at a cost.

I have loved all of the book in this series. And this one is no exception. Well written and interesting. Kim Harrison has developed a world that seems complex and deep in scope. The characters seem like real people, flaws and all.

Read this series in order. They seem to end with each installment, but you need the background to really enjoy the story.
Rachel is as interesting as ever. She has one problem after another pop up, and they all seem to be life threatening, and heart threatening. Something seems to be starting with Rachel and Trent, then it also takes a turn, when a tragic event happens. This brings old characters back into the picture, sure to cause havoc in episodes to follow. That also plays a part in the frustrating ending.
Ivy doesn't make an appearance til halfway through the saga, which I have to say didn't disturb me one bit. With Ivy comes the vampire politics, setting the stage for the next book very clearly.
We get new views of Al and Trent in this book. (maybe everyone will find out they have a heart and soul) Characters are becoming more independent of each other, with the series starting to wrap up. All and all it was a good story, with a couple of heart wrenching shockers. It was a little slow in a few spots with too much descriptive dialog going on, but I did listen to it in 2 days, so that says something for it.

A lot happened in this book. As a matter of fact, the action never stopped. It was hard to stop listening. In fact, I looked down and it was 3:30 in the morning. One thing I like about these books is that over the course of the series, the characters have grown and changed. They learn from their prior experiences. Rachel is that much more capable because of the lessons she has learned previously. We lost some characters in this volume that I'll be sad to see go but those losses let us see other characters in a new light. I like how it is much easier to understand Al than in the beginning and that Rachel understands why some characters do the things they do. And I loved how much Trent and Rachel there was in the book. He has always been one of my favorite characters and I always thought they would somehow end up together in the end. That said, I do miss Kisten still. I liked seeing more into the past of the demons and that Rachel has grown very comfortable considering herself a demon. The denouement of the main storyline with everyone working together was very satisfying. I hope to see more of that in the future. Everyone we're used to seeing in these books shows up at some point and some threads are wrapped up from previous books. The narrator was spot on as always. I love how I can always tell who's speaking and that she keeps the voices consistent from book to book. I'm definately looking forward to the next book in the series.

Rachel is maturing but stil kicks butt. This is one of my top fav books in this series. I like Ivy but I'm glad this book didn't focus so much on them as the previous books have. I'm going to listen to this one again. And as usual M. Gavin does an amazing job with the voices and her narration.
Well worth the credit or money to buy.
