Samantha Vanderveer has no inkling of the lives that have been destroyed by the infamous Pandora Ruby, a gem that has divided the Vanderveer and Raincrow families for decades, when she falls in love with Jake Raincrow.

"3rd Time Charm"
What took me so long to react?
This was my first Deborah Smith audio. I can't remember when did I downloaded this but after listening to A Place To Call Home and A Gentle Rain, I have to listen once again to Silk and Stone. In a way like a DS Marathon.
It's a fantasy for Jake Raincrow to have that instinctual sense when it comes to Samantha. From the first time they met, nature and all it's elements shaped their meeting, their separation and their reunion. The wicked witch comes in the form of Samantha's aunt, the fairies in the form of Jake's sister and his granny's old friend.
Enchanting Heart? True. What took me time to review? The enchanting part just didn't stick with me though the story brought me strong and mixed feelings to the way Jake and Samantha eventually beat the odds.
A credit worthy nevertheless. Looking for my next Deborah Smith listen.

"like the title says, "enchanting""
i really enjoyed this book. the characters were great, the story was great. Hated to put it down but woke up early today so i could get back to it. this is my first book by this author and i know i will search out others books by her in the future, the narrator did terrific job especially with the southern accent of the aunt, real believable.
"enchanting, just like the title says"
emotional but not overdone
Great job with the voices, the accents come across as real, not fake
"Didn't like it."
I could almost not believe that this book was written by the same author who could write books so great as the "A place to call Home" or "Blue willow" or "On the Bear Mountain". The story line was unbelievable, the characters were unrealistic and static.
Fast forwarded almost the entire second half of the audiobook, when realized that it is going nowhere.
