Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update", before "Sarah Palin", Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV.
She has seen both of those dreams come true.
At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live; from her passionately halfhearted pursuit of physical beauty to her life as a mother eating things off the floor; from her one-sided college romance to her nearly fatal honeymoon - from the beginning of this paragraph to this final sentence.
Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've all suspected: you're no one until someone calls you bossy.
Includes special, never-before-solicited opinions on breastfeeding, princesses, Photoshop, the electoral process, and Italian rum cake!

"I hope that's not really the cover. That's really going to hurt sales." (Don Fey, Father of Tina Fey)
"Do not print this glowing recommendation of Tina Fey's book until I've been dead a hundred years." (Mark Twain)
"Hilarious and insightful. Laugh-out-loud funny - oh no, a full moon. No! Arrgh! Get away from me! Save yourself!" (A Guy Turning into a Werewolf)
"Tina Fey broke my new SUV"
With 3124 on my new SUV's odometer, I was laughing so hard listening to Tina that I clipped a cement highway divider driving to work.
That's not the funny part.
I kept on laughing.. Tina Fey is like comedic Oxytocin.
Buy this book. Keep both hands on the wheel.
"Superb."
I am enjoying this book just as much as 30 Rock. It's brilliant and not particularly sappy, and Tina Fey does the reading of the book credit as well (some authors are not such great readers, but this is certainly not the case!).
To those who can't seem to find the PDF mentioned occasionally in the audio book: you can download it from the "library" section right under to the link for the book. It's not essential, but it's nice.
"Great book--great listen!"
She's just amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed this book! She takes us from her life as a kid in Philly to writing/starring/producing 30 Rock with the sharp wit and self deprecation that we've come to know her for. It's especially interesting to listen to what's going on behind the scenes at SNL or 30 Rock and how certain decisions were made (Sarah Palin, casting 30 Rock, etc...)
And of course, her asides are hilarious.
Loved it!

"Witty and Funny"
If you like Tina Fey, you will like this title The book is simply entertaining to say the least, funny, witty, insightful and generally a feel-good book. Its one of those books that you will have you cracking up from the get go. The book chronicles her life and her rise to being 'Tina Fey' we all like to laugh with and at. Childhood, teenage years, a view of her parents, SNL, Sarah Palin skit and the 30 Rock. Utterly funny through and through and you will not find a section that you cannot find some laughs in. A great listen!
Say something about yourself!
"I want to go to there"
I'm of the mindset that if you write a memoir you need to narrate the audiobook yourself (it's the one time I'll give bad narration a pass.) "Bossypants" is all the better because of Tina Fey's narration. She's incredibly engaging and her dry, self-deprecating humor will keep you laughing the whole way through. I'm a big fan of "SNL" and "30 Rock" so it was really interesting to get a behind-the-scenes look at the shows. And her opinion of Red Lobster Cheddar Bay biscuits is spot on!
"Truely enjoyable."
Absolutely awesome audiobook. It's almost always better when the author narrates their own book and in this case Tina's narrative definitely makes Bossypants one of the most enjoyable books I've listened to/read so far.
Her comments and jokes are witty and finely crafted, yet they're presented as an effortless, logical, and mostly hilarious conclusion to the situation she's in. It's everything you hoped it would be.
(Just FYI: the PDF she refers to in the audiobook can be downloaded from "my library" once you've bought the audiobook. )
"Thoroughly entertaining!"
I loved this book so much that I didn't want to turn it off. I was listening to it while hiking at the mountain and I got some amused looks when passers-by saw me laughing out loud. It's funny, interesting, insightful and honest. My only disappointment is that it ended.
"Elliott"
Don't listen to this book while driving. Telling the cop after an accident that an audiobook made you shoot coffee out your nose is not a good enough excuse apparently. A side note for people looking for the PDF, go to your library at audible look under the title (Bossypants) and right under that are the letters PDF. click on that and magically, the PDF shows up on your computer. taa-daa! Funny funny book
"Bossypants"
I enjoy watching Tina Fey on 30 Rock and Saturday Night Live so I thought I would give her audiobook a try. It was funny and really lets you see into her life a little. Tina narrates it herself so it feels like she is telling you personally her story. I wish it was longer than 5 hours but that seems about typical for most bios. Warning there is a lot of language so it’s not one to put on in the car with the kids. Oh, make sure you download the PDF it goes with the book, I did not realize there was a PDF until she kept saying check the PDF at first I thought it was a joke but no there really is a PDF with this book. After you buy the book go into your library and find Bossypants. Under the title there is PDF click on it and save it. I wish all bios you get on audiobook would come with the pictures that are with the print book.
