"Just Admit It"
If you can admit that you are never going to see your 30s again and even your 40s are quickly waning away. You will love this book. It starts a bit dark but there is humor in everything as we quickly learn.Life is never what we expect and I guess it is all in how you approach it. She approaches it with the idea that there is always something to laugh at. She asks the important questions like "why do you ask the fashion opinion of someone who dresses like a tree and and wears Eau D'Buck, during hunting season?'
I have loved all of her books this one is no exception. Enjoy.
Sure, I'd love to hear your story....
"Another hoot from the Queen!"
How much fun is this?! This one is for us gals that are determined to go gracefully into middle age with our heads held high, our thighs rubbing together, and the arm flab flying in the breeze. Just about as much fun as aging gets.
"SPQ rules"
I LOVE all of Jill's books and now have almost all of them. Her stories are true and so hilarious that you almost die laughing. It makes you feel not so bad about getting older, and not so embarrassed about your own mistakes on the road of life.
"Great light listen!"
I have liked all of Jill Conner Browne's books in her Sweet Potato series. If you like the others, you'll enjoy this one - same great sense of humor and perspective on life as well as even more ass-growing recipes!
"Jill Conner Browne is always a pleasure"
Reading Sweet Potato Queen books is like ordering a dessert that ends up tasting even better than it looks, and this one is no exception. Her take on life resonates with me and heck, I am just a pinch below the Mason-Dixon line, and a born and bred Yankee. And like a fine dessert, one is never enough. I can't wait until the next one comes out!
"Hilarious, refreshing, raw!"
Yes, for another good laugh and good perspective.
I don't know any other books to compare except for another Jill book.
As this is a compilation of stories, and I laughed so hard at most of them, one in particular reminds me of my own age and stage. The mother wanting to tell the young daughter the benefits of using sunscreen for protection against
Jill Connor Brown is the white Tyler Perry!
I hope some day to participate in the Million Queen's March.
