Publisher's summary

Erika thought America would let freedom reign forever but nine years after the Great Quake the reaction by the American government was quite different. The Day after Disaster brought hardships to the world. The American citizens fought valiantly to bring back some sense of normalcy in a world that was shaken to bits. Many people were left landless and those still in possession of land had many obligations to fulfill for the citizens left fighting for their lives. Erika and her family are just another group left landless and forced to find their way in this new government construct. They are caught between a yearning for the freedoms they used to take for granted and a will to fit in and excel in this new landscape. However, Mother Nature will always have the last word and she isn't done yet.

Another great novel by Sara

This is a great sequel and I can't wait until I finish other books in her series. I love the characters and the events carried out are a lot of fun to listen to.

Eye opening, Educational, and Entertaining.

Once again Sara shows us how vulnerable we are in this fragile and ever changing world by using her boundless imagination to tell a fantastic story. Her characters inspire us to absolutely never give up on our family, our friends, our abilities, our capacity for good, and above all our will to survive and thrive. Sara isn't just a fictional author, she lives the life of a prepared individual with a prepared mindset. This book is a wealth of knowledge that was obviously inspired by real life research and personal insight. She is an author who walks the walk and talks the talk. Her ability to convey the endless bond of love between a family is awesome to behold. Look beyond the story into the message that she is sending directly to her audience...get prepared for the bad times even if they never come, you and your family are worth the effort, and it's our duty to teach others the art of survival. This book is well written and artfully conceived. Another job well done by this wonderfully talented author. I highly recommend this book and eagerly await her next addition.

Couldn't put it down....

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Definitely, I would recommend this book to a friend. If you are at all interested in "preparedness" or just want an exciting "read", this is the book. You will learn a lot even if you are not interested in being prepared for the "changing earth".

Who was your favorite character and why?

Being a woman, I relate most to Erica. I'm not sure I could do everything she did, but it gives me hope.

What does Sara F. Hathaway bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

To me, listening to the author read the book is much more exciting than just reading the book. It brings out the nuances and "little things" I might otherwise miss.

Any additional comments?

I greatly enjoyed this series!
