Publisher's summary

Wingspread is the biography of A.B. Simpson, written by A.W. Tozer. A pastor and missionary, Simpson's work became what is now the Christian and Missionary Alliance, a denomination characterized by its Christ-centered teaching and emphasis on missions. Simpson's influence saw a convergence of Calvinistic doctrine with the holiness movements of the late 19th century. Simpson and the C&MA had an enormous influence upon the evangelical foreign missions movement of the 20th century. The influence was also felt in the holiness movement with the formation of the Assemblies of God. Simpson is an interesting and key figure, in no small part due to his teachings on the fourfold Gospel and on healing.

Interesting story

Tozer tells the life story of AB Simpson - the first to create the modern foreign missions magazine with photos and culture discussions along with the ministry work there. Simpson founded the Christian Missionary Alliance that aided many needy at home and abroad while bringing the message of Christ’s saving love. Check out Tozer’s other books on Audible!

great biography told with Tozer's usual frankness

Great book about an enlightened man of God, written by an equally enlightened man of God. Tozer's matter of fact style of writing and vivid description of an inspired life is a stinging rebuke of the counterfeit faith that dominates the
modern church.

Encouraging story

It’s a good story about a man many have forgotten. I especially enjoyed seeing his good character and how he weathered the
storms of life
