What a delight!

Ricki James-Diaz is the proprietor of Miss Vee’s Vintage Cookbook and Kitchenware Shop, located in the magnificent Bon Vee Culinary House Museum. New Orleans. Atmosphere. An aristocratic family with troublemaking relatives. A quirky cast of characters. What more can you want?

The story is full of optimism and charm – and the occasional murder – generously seasoned with LOL humor. It’s a tonic for the world-weary. Can’t wait for the next Vintage Cookbook!

Ricki is still hyper active when nervous

Another great add to the "Vintage Cookbook Mystery" series by Ellen Byron. "Wined and Died in New Orleans" is the second book and I hope more are coming. I was completely surprised by who the killer was. As far as the other crimes, not quite as much. Also, Ricki is now friends with Nina, why is she getting so flustered by her questioning her after the body is found? It's not like its the first time. If it was a completely unknown cop I could see she still being shaken by being questioned but not by a cop she has in her phone and texts.

Immerse yourself into New Orleans

They all do a wonderful job of immersing you in a journey through the main characters life. While Ellen Byron’s books follow a similar plot line, the narrator expresses Byron’s work in a way that leaves you guessing what wrote the story will take with foreshadowing and plot twists of characters.

It was a good book I enjoyed the story line and the characters. I look forward to reading more books.

Love, love this new series. One thing, there are a couple of continuity issues.

Love, love this new series. Fully fleshed out characters. Great whodunit. I can’t wait for more. But, I did notice a couple of continuity issues. I. The first book, Ricki’s mother talks loudly during their virtual calls. In the second book, it’s her dad. Also, is Virgil in AA or not?

I Love These Characters

Of course New Orleans is a perfect setting and what could be cozier than a vintage cookbook shop, but it’s the characters that really shine in Wined and Died in New Orleans. Ellen Byron has created a wonderful found family and this second book in the series just makes me want the third one even more. This book is cozy fun from first page to last.

Amazing Series!

I love that I found this series of books. My husband is from New Orleans and this brought back wonderful memories of my time living there.
