Publisher's summary

Hard-boiled gumshoe Eddie Valiant lands a plum job as Gary Cooper's bodyguard while Coop scouts locations for his next movie - a screwball comedy titled Hi, Toon! But Eddie's dream job quickly turns into a nightmare. The film's being shot in Toontown, and Coop's costar turns out to be none other than Roger Rabbit. Eddie's a big fan of Coop. Of Roger? Not so much. Now, a sinister hoodlum is threatening to murder Coop if the movie gets made. Before long, Eddie, Coop, Roger, and the ever-glamorous Jessica Rabbit are embroiled in a mystery that could destroy Toontown. When Roger bites off more Toonish trouble than Eddie can swallow, the answer to the question "Who wacked Roger Rabbit?" suddenly becomes no laughing matter.

Better and weirder than you imagine

Recommend all of the Roger rabbit books. There’s four in the set. These books are creative, imaginative, fun, and action pack!

Another fun visit to Toontown

Gary Wolf does it again, with the third installment of Riger Rabbit I was thoroughly entertained, was kept laughing and guessing the entire time. This one expands on the previous world by showcasing Toontown almost the whole book and boy does the town have a presence!
Eddie Valient is still just as fun to read as before and Roger is so well written it's a joy everytime he's in a scene. Also Willie P. is a great villian for this story, he was actually one of my favorite characters this time around.
While I wish there was more continuity between each novel it does help, as each book can be picked up and enjoyed without reading any of the previous books before, it's a refreshing change of pace from the huge interconnected worlds and stories of today honestly.
Filled with a fun world, great characters and snappy writing, Who Wacked Roger Rabbit is just a fun read I would recommend to any fan of the too. Rabbit or his cartoon pals.

A mixture of movie and novel

It was an interesting story that many will enjoy. It had stepped away from the original novel much like the last book. You get the characters from the movie and are given some small tweaks to have some remains of the first book. I enjoyed this detective story involving Toons.

Yet Another Reset

Each one of these books is more perplexing in the last. Yet again this book completely ignores the events of previous books and acts as a standalone story. The universe is inhabits is yet again slightly different than any other iteration.
so, if you are expecting to find out what happened to Roger, Jessica and thier kids, or if Eddie and Jessica's sister's relationship worked out....you are out of luck. This book hits the reset button again. The backstory in this one seems to be closest to the Disney film. But the tone of this one is way more adult and less in line with the film and other books. So, in that respect it feels like it's least like a sequel to the film. The dirty humor is less innuendo and more blatant this time around.
My major problem with this whole series is that I have to re-world build every time I read a new book. There was a no continuity in plot, character, or universes. Eddie Valiant and Roger Rabbit are always the main characters but they are never the same characters. Sometimes Roger is a down on his luck toon with no career. Other times Roger is the most famous cartoon there is. Sometimes Eddie is a good detective down in his luck. Other times he's just kind of a dirt bag.
Having to reset my expectations for the second book was one thing but having to do it again for the third book........It really soured my enjoyment this time around.
