Publisher's summary

Days after completing her fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology, 35-year-old Aki Williams travels from her home in Los Angeles to a small town in Illinois, interviewing for a job that she doesn’t want. What she does want is to meet her biological sister, Jack Camdon, a sister whom she didn’t know existed until she dreamt of her. Upon their meeting, many things surprise her - that Jack’s a lesbian with a wife and children, that she’s a dreamer who dreams in spirit animals, and that she’s a medicine woman, deeply rooted in the Ojibwe culture.

Three years ago on Sunday, 43-year-old professor of archaeology Carsyn Lyndon lost her parents and her wife in a tragic accident. Since then, she’s suffered from PTSD and loneliness. She’s kind-hearted and handsome but dates no one. When she meets Aki at her four-year-old godson’s birthday party, they’re incredibly attracted to one another, and those feelings intensify during a family camping trip - a particularly interesting development for Aki, since prior to that, she’d never considered that she might be a lesbian.

As Aki comes to terms with her sexuality, Carsyn renews a vow to not make the same mistake twice - a mistake that had devastating consequences. With seemingly no middle ground, an accident will bring them together, forcing them to re-examine their priorities. But will love, even love at first sight, be enough for them to move forward as a couple?

Great book!

This is the second book I've read by KA Moll and I think I enjoyed this one even more. The characters were believable and had unique voices. Plus, being a birth mom, I loved the adoption aspect. I enjoyed the Ojibwe aspect as well, especially since dream interpretation interests me.

finiding family and the happy ever after

This is actually very sweet story. Finding sibling and love at the same time is priceless. I really like the characters and relationships that developed as the book progressed. In the end, one big family.

Dreams of the Heart

A magnificent story about Family reunited,; the magic of Ojibwe culture and the struggle to overcome tragedy and PTSD. Pedatric Optometrist Aki Williams travels to Illinois to find her biological sister Jack Camdon. When they meet she finds that Jack is a lesbian with a wife and children and a Ojibwe dreamer and medicine woman. Jack’s friend and archeology professor Carsyn Lyndon lost her wife and parents in a tragic accident which she witnessed leaving her with PTSD. Kia has never been attracted to a woman but the moment they meet Kia and Camdon are drawn to each other. Will love be able to heal hearts and bring them together? Great performance and author. Recommend.

What a sweet romance.

I loved the inclusion of the native American culture and I loved how wonderfully sweet it was.

Interesting storyline

I listened because I was intrigued by the storyline. Shamans and doctors and adoption, oh my. And while it was a perfectly fine execution of the concept, it didn't rock my world. It has all the component parts, but the whole package fell a little short for me. The dialog was flat and choppy at times and the progression of the story felt forced. There are some stellar pieces (well conceived and written) and the outline is really interesting/promising but the whole falls short. I didn't make it to the end.
