Publisher's summary

The David Gemmell Award-shortlisted author of Age of Iron returns with the final book in his West of West trilogy, in which a mismatched group of refugees must battle monsters, an unforgiving land and each other as they cross a continent to fulfil a prophecy.

Battling across the Shining Mountains, the questers discover a land more terrifying and filled with more dangerous creatures than they could ever have imagined - and they've fought thunder lizards. The tentatively allied Wootah and Calnians must survive monster attacks, flash floods and tornadoes to uncover the secret of The Meadows. And then comes the hard part. To save themselves and everybody else they will travel west of west, deeper into danger, and do all that they can to defeat a goddess who has already killed all the other gods.

Great fantasy adventure series, Wow

Angus Watson delivers a well rounded adventure. Great characters with constant action and unexpected twists. Just enough humor and darkness with a touch of alchemy and mistisizum. Second series as good, if not better than the first.

Journey was great, ending just okay

I thought the ending was a little disappointing. After a long journey spanning 3 books, I thought the last fight would be a bit more epic. I also wished the author spent some time on their lives after the meadows. Putting aside my wishes, I loved this book and enjoyed everything that was revealed. Sean's performance was great as usual.

better than the first two

I guess it was slow in the first book but I really liked this one. Best of the three but none were as good as the iron series

Loved this seriously fun series. Will listen again

My taste may be a bit eclectic but this series was so unique, funny, interesting and well done. Thank you Angus Watson, Sean Barrett, and my cousin who recommended it, lol.

really satsifying conclusion

when i began book 1 i actually put it down maybe 30% in, because not much was happeninng - then picked it back up, and the story really started to come together. the way the author has the characters grow and change can be slow and subtle sometimes, but so satisfying.

Very entertaining!

Kudos to Angus Watson for spinning this tale and intertwining both the Vikings and Natives of North American. I really enjoyed this story and the way it was written.

Is he the best writer of the modern age?

What a fabulous story teller, witty, intelligent and he’s got a grasp on the mystical, historical and the relationship between the two.

I look forward to Future Novels by this Duo.

Like all good books, I was sad to come to the end of the Trilogy. The book was captivating, thoughtful, and at times very funny. I look forward to reading more from Watson, and I will be looking for other books that Barrett has narrated.

interesting fantasy premise

A premise I personally have ever read before... vikings might have explored North America more than just the settlement sites found in Newfoundland Canada. Initeresting and quite funny also.

I wasn't ready for it to end!

Firstly, the narrator was excellent. The story was hilarious. Many laugh out loud moments. Equally heartwarming and heart-rending. Never a dull moment throughout the series. Stumbled on this series after reading Age of Iron and was instantly hooked. Wish there was a book 4 though or that the ending was a little more complete, because after waiting for the culmination over the length of 3 books everything wrapped up at warp speed in about 20 minutes.
