Publisher's summary

Orphaned, disgraced, and stripped of her title, Rho is ready to live life quietly as an aid worker in the Cancrian refugee camp on House Capricorn. But news has spread that the Marad - an unbalanced terrorist group determined to overturn harmony in the Galaxy - could strike any House at any moment. Then, unwelcome nightmare that he is, Ochus appears to Rho, bearing a cryptic message that leaves her with no choice but to fight. Now Rho must embark on a high-stakes journey through an all-new set of Houses, where she discovers that there's much more to her Galaxy - and to herself - than she could have ever imagined.

Fast Paced Escape Read

Like part 1 the book needs more details and chatacter development; the story moves so fast the author doesn't give time for rounding out parts that would add to the richness of the story. That said, the story is good and the world building made me happy with original ideas. I do enjoy these and will read book 3- just annoyed because this could be excellent and it isn't. Also annoying love triangle that detracts from... everything.

Another great story from Romina Russell

The story picks up soon after book 1. Again, Romina blows me away with her world of the Zodiac. It's so original and creative! It makes me want to visit each house!

Cringe worthy

My daughter was reading this book series so I tried to catch up and learn about it. The first book was rough to get through and this one was just painful. The narrator made it even more melodramatic. The concept had a lot of promise, but they could never quite make the heroine strong on her own. And of course then they have to add the love triangle and how she always needs to be rescued. My daughter stopped reading in the middle of this book and since I listened to it on audible, I finished it. I almost wanted to make her finish it as punishment for even suggesting this book. The audible didn't help the cause. It was sooooo drawn out and whiney. I honestly have never been so critical of a book before, but seriously, this had some good things going for it and they just wasted the opportunity. I really wish that someone could take this concept and redo this whole series!
