Publisher's summary

Malrosa is a princess of the Athanatos, powerful immortal insect people who have been systematically assaulting Vita's island for years.

When Vita ends up fusing her soul with her, the resulting gestalt must struggle to reconcile her conflicting viewpoints and beliefs. Now in love with two homes and full of perspective her old self lacked, Vita must bring peace between warring islands... and if there's one thing Vita has always been bad with, it's peace.

This is the fourth and final book of Vigor Mortis.

Perfect

The series had a perfect ending. My heart aches to know this is the end of the series with Vita.

Almost perfect

While the series is my personal favorite, and volume 4 is no exception in being incredible dreadful, wholesome and engaging, it is off set by the new narrator. While the new narrator is not bad, I do prefer the previous one and it was distracting to get used to the new one. I personally would buy another rerecording of this audiobook if they have the previous narrator. But still a good listen.

Welp.

Overall, I liked the story. Vita's journey from learning about her power to becoming a Goddess of a new world and everything in between was certainly a ride. This book is probably my favorite, with the first one either a close second or a tie. I really liked how Vita and Malrosa seemed to slip into talking like one another, even when it wasn't hinting to them switching control. It would just happen. I'd be lying if I said I paid attention the entire time. There would be moment where my mind would slip away, usually during long moments of characters yapping about something but that's more a personal problem of mine.

I personally don't like that Vita and Penelope got split up at the end but I'll just have to cope by imagining them ultimately finding each other(physically), along with the rest of Vita's people...who I imagine Penelope turned into immortals like them.

I want more!!!

This author is my favorite! I have liked everything she has published so far. Great book! But I had a bit of trouble trying to know who is talking until I was told.

Narrator change feels empty

I never understood why people think that it's a good idea to hire a narrator that sounds way different than the original after 60 plus hours of story, and doesn't listen to the old books so every character just sounds wrong, even by the end of the book I was just considering how it'd sound in the previous voices, how their new ones were quickly formed and shallow, without vocal ticks. and let's not forget the inability to pronounce complex words, like saying forte as fort. I have a poor opinion of narrators willing to enter into a story already set as every one I've seen it done has been the same thing, a complete lack of regard for what came before and character.

The books writing itself was good, but I can no longer recommend nor relisten to this series as the second choice sub par narrator is too much of a black mark.

Just wow

Equal parts amazing, disturbing, beautiful, horrifying, and enjoyable. Everything that I came to expect in this stories universe and more.

A very satisfying conclusion

Somehow Thundamoo has managed another book as fascinating and challenging as previous entries but in new ways. Again.

The best ending

I hate tragedies and I am a sucker for happy endings, enough said. This ending made me so happy.
