Publisher's summary

Guilt has defined Luke Dempsey's life. But it was self-destructiveness that landed him in prison. When his friend and fellow inmate lay dying shortly before Luke's release, the older man revealed he left a string of clues for his daughter, Finley, that will lead her to the treasure he's hidden. Worried that she won't be the only one pursuing the treasure, he gains Luke's promise to protect her until the end of her search.

Finley Sutherland, owner of an animal rescue center and defender of lost causes, accepts Luke's help with the treasure hunt while secretly planning to help him in return by coaxing him to embrace the forgiveness he's long denied himself. As they draw closer to the final clue, their reasons for resisting each other begin to crumble, and Luke realizes his promise will push him to the limit in more ways than one. He'll do his best to shield Finley from unseen threats, but who's going to shield him from losing his heart?

Wow! What an imagination this author has

This author is brilliant. I definitely recommend this book, and the whole series. It’s been such a great experience. Narration was perfect as well. Great team! I’ll be looking for more from both.

From heartbreak to redemption

I love how throughout this book Becky encourages her readers to step out and live life in Christs freedom instead of being shackled to the chains of fear that grip us. Love love love the character of Luke. Love how God uses these characters hardships to grow them each into a deeper faith with Him. Well done Barbara McCullough in narrating this masterpiece that Becky Wade has written. So many godly insights. Can’t wait to listen to it again.

Terrible narrator!

It's been very difficult to pay attention to the story because the narrator is so bad. She stops frequently in the middle of sentences, and her voice goes from low to normal, so I can't get the volume right. Also, the young woman character sounds like an older woman, and you can't tell the woman's voice from the man's. There's no difference. I feel sorry for the author because this narrator does such a disservice to her book.

Enjoyable story & narration

Thank you for returning to the use of an excellent narrator. I have been disappointed when it is hard to tell whether a book is less enjoyable than “Meant to be Mine”, or it is just a less expressive narrator.

An amazing story!

This was truly a wonderful story and an amazing conclusion to the series of the miracle five. I can’t possibly express how much I love Luke and his relationship with Finley. There’s is a complex and beautiful romance. I am not usually a fan of mysteries but this one was an intriguing and integral part of the overall storyline and development of the characters. I have wondered about Luke throughout the series and it was wonderful to see this level of redemption on so many levels. Again, I loved everything about it. Finley was the perfect soulmate for Luke even though she was such a vastly different personality from him.

I also was delighted by the secondary storyline of Ben and Akira and so happy to see them get their HEA… as well as the coming together again of the miracle five.

Becky Wade is truly a storyteller beyond compare.

However, to be honest, what I did not love was the narration of this one. So I gave up on the audible version and stuck to my Kindle.

Disappointing

I almost stopped reading several times as he was sullen, angry and alone, and she was too much of a manipulative sweetheart. They were less real than all the others in the series
