Publisher's summary

True Believer: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!

Part love story and part ghost story, this is an unforgettable New York Times best seller about a science journalist and a North Carolina librarian who dare to believe in the impossible.

As a science journalist with a regular column in Scientific American, Jeremy Marsh specializes in debunking the supernatural - until he falls in love with the granddaughter of the town psychic.

When Jeremy receives a letter from Boone Creek, North Carolina, about ghostly lights appearing in a cemetery, he can't resist driving down to investigate. Here, in this tightly knit community, Lexie Darnell runs the town's library. Disappointed by past relationships, she is sure of one thing: Her future is in Boone Creek, close to all the people she loves. From the moment Jeremy sets eyes on Lexie, he is intrigued. And Lexie, while hesitating to trust this outsider, finds herself thinking of him more than she cares to admit. Now, if they are to be together, Jeremy must do something he's never done before - take a giant leap of faith.

Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

audio issues

I found the story to be enchanting however, the audio has hiccups in different areas. I could hear the music in the back ground but the narrative would skip or sometimes be void altogether.

Mrs. Doubtfire Goes South

Whenever I want an insipid romance I turn to NS. The ridiculous and distracting "movie quality" soundtrack was probably half the cost of this listen. However, the man's voice for the man was fine but his female depictions just made me nauseas. Instead of fake dumb music why not invest in a real woman narrator along with the man? I'll just keep NS where he belongs - in real paperback in my beach bag.

Musical background: True Believer

I enjoyed the storyline. The added musical background was not something I would like to have in the book reading again. The description was well written and I could imagine the background myself. The added background to me didn't add to the story, It caused me to be distracted, trying to figure out what the noise was. I'm glad the reader had clear voice and clear pronunciation of the words. Again the book is worth listening to.

True Believer Fan

The Notebook will always be my favorite, but this is running a close race to becoming my favorite. I adore the characters and am pleased with the ending. I think would make a great movie!!

Sound effects

I loved the story but really did not like the music and sound effects going on in the background. The soap opera music was, at times, dramatic. Books for me are what I picture in my mind as I am reading or listening. I really don't need motor sounds and crickets distracting me.

Not the usual intense Sparks love story!

Not the greatest Sparks' story line. Narrator leaves a lot to be desired. Overall just ok!

Slow moving

I have always loved Nicolas Sparks but this is not one of his better books. It moved along extremely slow.

Great Story

Excellent story, as always. You can absolutely hand down count on an excellent read from Nicholas Sparks. My only issue was the book skipped several times. Never had that before with an Audible book.
