Critic reviews

"Lisa's stories are not only packed with the humor and adventure that comes from being a solo woman traveler, but also filled with compassion that cuts to the core of what travel is all about - a deep connection to a people and place found when we shed our protective armor and remember we are all human." (Kimberley Lovato, author of Walnut Wine and Truffle Groves)
"There is daring, humor, and even a bit of Eros in the 14 stories that span her life from the innocence of eighteen, when she was struck with wanderlust, into middle age." ( Foreword Reviews)

Great listen!

This is a fabulous and fun book of adventure, learning and exploration. The wonderfully descriptive writing style of the author makes you feel like you are with her on these fabulous trips. At times hilarious.....and other times very poignant as she shares the stories of people met along the path of life. I highly recommend listening to this one.....and the narrator does a fantastic job. Enjoy!

O Magic oxygen when suffocating between trips

I'm a writer traveling the world and have been desperately looking for just this thing.
The author's stories, style (travel, personality and writing) filled the inspiration in my heart back up after a summer of being a full-time patient for a mystery autoimmune disorder that has been trying to kill me. Some think maybe due to the summer before in India.
There were times the story fell a wee bit short for me (ex: jumping age from youth to middle-age without a bridge, going right into a story of a new lover without a bridge about leaving her husband, the stories in the end seeming to go fast-forward comparatively) and even more moments the narrator took me out of the story (incorrect accents, talking out a song instead of singing it, incorrect pronunciation and/or inflection) but these were few and far between. The narrator was a great fit to be believable and bring to life for the character of this author over all.
I'll look for more just like this and will make note of the narrator as a plus for making future decisions. ✈️🌍🎤📖

Kindred spirits Unite

Enjoyed this book. I feel like I need an audible book club. Is there such a thing? The stories were inspirational, the reading appropriate.
