    "Peter Mayle's Provence Redux"
What did you love best about Peter Mayle's Provence: Including 'A Year in Provence' and 'Toujours Provence'?

Being able to listen to the author, himself, reading was quite a joy. Not that Mr. Macnee's mellifluous voice was, in any way, of a diminished quality. I had read all of Mr. Mayle's books in the past; and thought it was time to revist them via the spoken work. I was not dissapointed.

I would like nothing better to be able to listen to all of Mr. Mayle's Provence books, especially HOTEL PASTIS, in the AUDIBLE format.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This was not the kind of "edge of your seat" book that I wanted to rush through to get to the ending. Reading Mayle reminds me of why I sail.. It's the journey, not the destination.

In fact, I do not want these lovely books to ever end!

    "Relaxing and light hearted read"

If Provence is, in fact the warm, endearing place Peter Mayle has portrayed in his books then I am ready to pack up and move there tomorrow.

The chapters are almost complete in themselves, in the way of James Herriot's books, and so are easily read and easily put down again.

The characters are realistic, and Mayle's dry British humor is delightful. I thoroughly enjoyed these books and hope others will, too!

"Mayle delivers with fantastic tales of France"
What made the experience of listening to Peter Mayle's Provence: Including 'A Year in Provence' and 'Toujours Provence' the most enjoyable?

I've listened to Peter Mayle's "French Lessons" three times and now I'm headed toward listen No. 2 of "Provence." Few writers are as clever and witty in that lovely English way as Mayle is, and few make the French such delightful characters when just being themselves. Highly recommended book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    Laughed a great deal.

"Brilliant could listen to again and again!"

Warm and funny, a feast for the imagination of any francophile or foodie. And Patrick Macnee's performance is simply superb.
