National Gallery Dating to 1824
This iMinds short is very informative and interesting, introducing listeners to the National Gallery of London, its history and architecture, its art collection and its popularity with visitors. Housing more than 2300 pieces of art in its permanent collection, many focus on the Italian Renaissance period. During WWII most of the artwork was moved to storage in Wales for safety purposes and returned in 1945. Listed as one of London's most visited places, the National Gallery is one of England's treasures dating back to 1824.
