Publisher's summary

At the Netherfield Ball, Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy are at wit’s end with each other. Darcy can no longer deny his growing attraction to her, but she is clearly not ready to hear him. Elizabeth is confused by the many versions of Mr. Darcy she has encountered. She seeks refuge from the crowds, including her ridiculous family, on the terrace. He finds solace in the empty library. Grappling with their own feelings, each look up at the night sky. The evening is fine and the stars shine in their multitude reminding Elizabeth and Darcy just how small they are. While looking up at the Heavens, each notices a shooting star streaking across the sky. And each makes a wish: to better understand the other. Neither is ready for what happens next.

The day dawns bright but almost immediately, Elizabeth realizes something is very wrong. She is not in her room, not even in her own home. But it was not until she saw her - or rather his - reflection in the mirror that the magnitude of her situation becomes apparent. She has somehow come to inhabit Mr. Darcy’s body! Meanwhile Mr. Darcy, who had imbibed too much wine the night before, remains blissfully unaware of his situation while he sleeps. It was not until much later in the day than is his usual wont, that he finally awakes and discovers that he too is not himself.

While Through Each Other's Eyes stays true to the overall character of the Pride and Prejudice, the radical change in the characters’ situation allows for some changes in perspective and timing, as well as some sensual situations but no explicit sex scenes. It includes all the original characters but also adds a few new ones.

Fun body swap trope.

Fun and enjoyable body swap storyline, without any angst. A light read. Poor Darcy, having to experience every female bodily function. Good thing pregnancy was an exception!

An outstanding narration and performance by Siobhan Waring. I can only imagine the challenge in keeping the voices straight and applying them properly when the male and female characters are in the opposite gender’s body. Very well done.

Lots of fun!

Short and sweet - I read this entire book in a day. It gave lots of characters happy endings and I really enjoyed this fun P&P fantasy. An entertaining guilty pleasure for fans of regency romance with a unique twist.

Fantastic retelling

Pride and Prejudice has been my favorite book for half of my life now, which makes me a little wary about retellings. I didn’t need to be so cautious, though, because Through Each Other’s Eyes lived to my expectations. I loved this Freaky Friday take on Elizabeth and Darcy. The narrator did an excellent job differentiating both voices. There was a part that lowered my score, though, because either the narrator or the writer got the point of views confused and I had to listen to that part twice before understanding that it was an error. However this didn’t damage my enjoyment of the book too much. This is a fun read anyone who loves Pride and Prejudice will enjoy.

I received a review copy of this book upon request. This has not influenced my opinion in any way.

Trading places...

Through Each Other's Eyes, A Pride and Prejudice variation by Aleena Ashe is an entertaining, trading places variation on Elizabeth and Darcy. Was there anything super surprising and unexpected in the telling of this tale? Not really, but that didn't take away from the simplistic enjoyment of this novella. This was a nice, easy, pleasant listen and I flew through it in one sitting.

Through Each Other's Eyes is about what happens when Darcy and Elizabeth have an encounter at a party and end up switching bodies. They learn a little more about each other, both physically and socially, than they knew before. Additionally, they get different views from their friends and family that ends up being eye-opening for them both. This is a clean listen.

Siobhan Waring did an excellent job narrating this short listen. I enjoyed her tone and cadence and felt that she brought life to the characters. I'd listen to more of her performances in the future. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.

Entertaining Switcheroo

This was a light and cute variation. Having Darcy and Elizabeth experience each others life provided great character growth and understanding in a fun way. Darcy definitely came to understand Mrs. Bennett much better. I would have preferred the author spent less time on the problems each faced with bodily functions but the rest was very good.
Siobhan Waring's narration was great. The voices she gave each character and the inflections and accents were very good. I'd listened to another Pride and Prejudice variation she'd read so I knew I would enjoy this one. I can't imagine how hard it must have been to say Elizabeth's lines in Darcy's voice and vice versa but she pulled it off.

Smooth Easy Listen

Through Each Other's Eyes is a wonderful listen. There is no high drama, no major suspense, but a lot of humor.

You will be taken on a trip into the past where two people who obviously disdain one another swap places and learn what it means to take the role of another sex and on a road to deeper understanding.

The narration is very smooth and the voice could not have possibly been better! Excellent choice of narrator!

Darling Darcy!

What a sweet book and a fun and different way to look at Pride and Prejudice. Really enjoyed this listen. I chuckled often and enjoyed the troubles both Bennett and Darcy had to face being swapped with each other. Very clever.

The narration was wonderful and truly added to the story!

Brava!! Well Done!

I rarely write reviews, but this book was so well done. It was so good and my only critisism is that I wanted more of your greatness. Please do more. You're a great talent requires more stories. More of Jane Austen or any other story . Don't over think, just write. BTW I am a published writer...only of scholastic textbooks, bit I have a few series being prepped for publication and I have read many hundreds of books. If not a published hero of fiction novels, I am at least well read. I have read the classic and modern authors. Please believe me. Just believe these words and keep writing and kick some ass! I believe In you.
