Publisher's summary

What if what you really need is right there in front of you, if you just take a moment to look up?

Milly has been waiting for this moment forever, and finally it’s just an hour away - an interview with Vogue magazine and the opportunity to get her Louboutin-clad foot in the door. There’s just one problem - totally engrossed in her mobile phone, Milly doesn’t see the bus that is fast approaching - until it’s too late....

When Milly next opens her eyes, the consequences of her accident become clear. Everything she has worked for and dreamed of suddenly feels out of reach. But there is one bright spot on her horizon - the reappearance of her ex Jed, in all of his six-foot-four, broad-shouldered glory, with the most piercing ice blue eyes Milly ever saw.

Once used to working in a whirlwind, Milly now has the chance to reconsider how to live. Will she rush back to the treadmill, get her head down and back to business, or is there a whole other life waiting for her, if she’ll just look up to see it?

Maxine Morrey’s latest uplifting, heart-warming romance is guaranteed to brighten up your day.

Nice story, southern drawl distracting

Good story, narration of main character was good. The awful southern drawl was distracting and hard to listen to.

Great Story - bad accent

I loved this story but this was a horrible southern accent and I felt it made the lead male sound dumb.

Great British Tale

This is a really nice story. Definitely recommend. My only dislike is the narrator when doing the southern, American accent for the male MC, it was a bit rough but overall she did a wonderful job with the female lead

Worth listening to!

Great clean story line. I enjoyed the characters and the way the built upon each other. My biggest complaint was the narrator. Speaking quickly doesn’t make it a male voice nor a southern drawl. A southern drawl is VERY different from a cajun drawl. Though the lead male is from the south, NO cajun from New Orleans would ever speak like that. Please take 5 minutes to listen to different dialects. You will be a better narrator for it.

Poor American accent

I enjoyed the book, I felt invested in the characters and wanted to see it through- but the American accent was painful and the story ending was obvious from the beginning. Great way to be side tracked if you don’t want to be taxed by plot twists.

Cute story

Very cute, fun, happy-ending story. I enjoyed the story and the voice for the FL but not the guy so much. Not everyone from the South speaks with that exaggerated of an accent and that accent wasn't a Louisiana accent. I almost stopped after hearing him but love Maxine Morrey books so kept listening- and glad I did because it was a really cute story!

Thoroughly enjoyable

I loved this book and the narration was excellent. The characters were relatable and I enjoyed the humor interspersed throughout the story. It also made me reflect of things that are worth looking up for!
