Poor narration

The narrator starts at a fair reading pace with care for voice inflection, but as the book progresses it becomes obvious that he is simply trying to get the job finished. At 5 hours, the pace is so frenzied that Nietzsche's incredible writing is not effectively communicated and the audiobook becomes an irritant. This was quite disappointing, but a big THANK YOU to Audible for providing subscribers the choice to return a book. I chose the other Will to Power narrated by Michael Luntz and the sample was 100% better. I plan to follow this by the The Great Courses analysis of this important book.

Ellis Freeman, whoever that may be is no cosmopolitan.

Freeman has no business reading a German book of philosophy. He does not pronounce German words or many words correctly. It is jarring to hear an important text mangled so terribly. For example, he doesn’t know how to pronounce the name of Germany’s greatest literary lion, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, or the greatest German philosopher, Kant. A person with a generally cosmopolitan or liberal arts education is needed for this job. There are French and Latin phrases here also.
