Publisher's summary

Jim is an ordinary man of our time. He's unexpectedly transported 2,000 years into the future. He and his two sons, with a rental truck packed with the contents of their house, cause a major sensation with the population of that future time. Due to wars, politics, and age, little knowledge exists of the time Jim came from in the early 21st century. His gift to them is knowledge of a long forgotten past. He has one problem; someone is trying to kill him for what he knows.

Another Great Story by this Author

I recently stumbled onto this author and listened first to, "Meet me Yesterday" and now this one, "The Time Stone". I am So very Glad ,Excellent author and writer. This story starts out with a Sargent and his 2 sons being transfered to a new base. On the way driving there, the father pulls off the hwy and turns the wrong way and now has to turn around. During this they all of a sudden seem to fall and next thing they know they are elsewhere. Narrator does a Great job with the various characters voices and the entire storyline.

Well Done

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would and I already have.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Time Stone?

Risking a spoiler here – The beautiful beach resort. The preceding chapter was about a dismal depressing ugly planet. The sudden transition to relaxing and attractive was striking.

What about Michael Burnette’s performance did you like?

The regional accents were so accurate.

Any additional comments?

Will look for the sequel.

Very insightful

Would you listen to The Time Stone again? Why?

Yes I would, I've already played it twice. The writer and narrator have created a book that draws you in and has you imagining you are there.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Levin - he reminds me of a very good friend of mine. The character is highly intelligent with definite Asperger's syndrome. Both writer and narrator portrayed the disability extremely accurately.

Have you listened to any of Michael Burnette’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I clicked on Mr. Burnette's page but the entries were in technical fields where I had no interest. I'm hoping he does the sequel to this book as well which is currently in kindle.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the criminal gang was killing all the hero's good friends to get at him.

Any additional comments?

Will wait for the audio book of the sequel. If it doesn't come up in a couple of months I will get the kindle.

This was a fun read. Really enjoyed it

It wasn't hard SF that I normally like, but it was well written and fun. I have just got the Vol 2 and can't wait.

Great fun

As science fiction goes this is not a technical masterpiece. The main character, Jim, ends up transported to a quite unlikely future that is far too similar to our present. Yet this turns out to be a very entertaining romp, half satire and half comic adventure. Highly recommended for pure fun and the great skill of the reader.

Entertaining, light, sci-fi time travel story....

Easy to follow storyline with likeable characters.
The narrator had a pleasant voice, although I think he may have been chewing gum while reading, so a little distracting.
