Resumen del Editor

Audie Award Winner, Personal Development, 2013

Author Benjamin Hoff shows that the philosophy of Winnie-the-Pooh is amazingly consistent with the principles of Taoism and demonstrates how you can use these principles in your daily life.

Is there such thing as a Western Taoist? Benjamin Hoff says there is, and this Taoist's favorite food is honey. Through brilliant and witty dialogue with the beloved Pooh-bear and his companions, the author of this smash bestseller explains with ease and aplomb that rather than being a distant and mysterious concept, Taoism is as near and practical to us as our morning breakfast bowl. Romp through the enchanting world of Winnie-the-Pooh while soaking up invaluable lessons on simplicity and natural living.

While Eeyore frets and Piglet hesitates and Rabbit calculates and Owl pontificates, Pooh just is. And that's the clue to the secret wisdom of the Taoists.

The Tao of Pooh is an international bestseller and the first Taoist-authored book in history to appear on bestseller lists, it remained on The New York Times’ bestseller list for 49 weeks.

Delightful & Accessible

A joyful listen and should be a must read in high school. It seems so natural to use the Pooh characters to explain Taoist tenets. Pooh is the "effortless will do" character and unburdened by life especially it's surprises. In contrast, Owl and Rabbit with all their seemingly wise expertise just over-complicate matters while Eeyore's poor life view just inables him to live a joyful life, and of course, there is Piglet with heart and soul. I will listen to again and again. Strive to Live in Harmony

I must be a block of wood

I had thought it awful long until I realized that I had stopped it in the middle of the last chapter.
Then I laughed at myself and restarted the book from the beginning.
I found myself fascinated at the various specifications assigned to each character of the "Pooh world". In my simple mind I listened to the story, without thinking of how the animals and their actions combined to represent a certain kind of human set of actions. But as Mr. Vance spoke Mr. Hoff's written descriptions, I could readily see in my mind certain examples of people who I can now call 'Piglets', 'Owls' and 'Eores' (and so forth).

But mainly, I resonated with the simple thinking of Pooh. I circle around to find that I'm quite satisfied with being simple.

This book is most amusing and helpful

Let me start off by saying I wasn't a fan of Winner the Pooh. It got on my nerves. I bought this on a whim after listening to another book quote it a few times. I found it intriguing. Now I am happy I did.

I used to be Owl.... reading and getting so caught up in the rhetoric that in the end I had only confused myself further.

Since getting older I am becoming more like Pooh. This book was a helpful and funny reminder of what is.
Now I make sure not to be run over by the backsoons. : o ). Listen to it and you'll understand.

The narrator did an excellent job putting the listener right in the midst of thing. He and this book have made me a fan of the Tao of Pooh.

Classic. Splendid mashup of Tao and Pooh Bear

Enjoy short experience that still resonates today. Has aged well and good for all ages albeit maybe a bit philosophical for kids. Supposed to be philosophical admittedly but fun.

Lovely Story, Good narration

The book is a very basic introduction to Daoism, one that can be taught to children and they would understand. Never got boring while listening to it.

Contemplative.

Artfully written and skillfully presented. I will definitely listen again to learn the simple lessons I missed the first time.

Im amazed, left in awe.

This little book, and its incredible stories helped shape me up. It helped me a twenty year old man self-reflect. I want to be a child again, a child that knows. Thanks!
