Publisher's summary

When Sheriff Bud Shumway’s aunt and uncle invite him and his wife to join them for a vacation in beautiful Glacier National Park, he has no idea that he'll soon be on a search for their daughter, the same cousin Bud went to high school with and who everyone called the Jewel of the Desert. But Bud's not sure what he can do to help, especially given the strange circumstances surrounding her disappearance and the fact that she vanished some 25 years ago.

Being Bud, he doesn’t let that stop him, and when his uncle also goes missing, Bud soon finds himself trekking through some of the wildest and most remote mountains in the Lower 48, a landscape filled with grizzly bears, sudden blizzards, thru-hikers, wiener dogs, aquatic entomologists, mysterious Red Bus jammers, and Flat-Earthers, far from Bud’s comfort zone in his quiet little desert town of Green River, Utah, all while trying to unravel the mystery of the Ghost of the Weeping Wall, as well as meeting up with a few ghosts of his own.

This is book 13 in the Bud Shumway Mystery Series.

Bud comes out as he always does

Really enjoy all of Bud’s tales . The characters are well developed.
But the narrator should go back and listen to his renditions of all the characters. I don’t remember the doctor and Millie sounding the way they did in this book. Doc sounded a bit wimpy. Isn’t Millie the one with black birds in one of previous books? Doc was coroner and vey dignified voice.

Desperately need a new narrator

Please try to find a narrator that doesn't make all the characters in the story sound like they are in their 90's. The narrator for the first few books was great, almost making Bud Shumway sound like Longmire. But the narrator that replaced him has steadily gotten worse and worse. Now the stories sound like it's just a bunch elderly guys in a nursing home chattering to each other. It totally ruins the plot and the story, as well as the characters.
