This is, sadly, not like the others

My son and I love the Bobs and Tweets books. We've bought and read them all and the drawings are so charming. We decided to get the audio books for the other two and that was our bedtime story. We loved those too. Then when I saw this one we were excited to get it and we did. To our surprise, the format changed and instead of reading the story, they decided to get different actors to read different parts and then, for whatever reason, decided to add a song about the dog at the end of each chapter. A different song, in a different style, after each and every chapter - and these aren't particularly good songs either. Their presence breaks up the story reading by halting the flow of the narrative for 2-3 minutes to hear some song, and then the next chapter comes. We could not use this now for our night time routine as it is jarring and not really, then, an audiobook. The lyrics aren't part of the poetry of the book. They are extra material and do not flow with the story much. This is a disappointing production therefore. I wish they would redo this (and also do the other 2 books in the original format so the whole collection has the same flow).
