The Man Called Cash Will Make You Take a Deep Look

Johnny Cash's relationship with God is the story that I wanted to hear. Steve Turner has delivered it. As great a man as Johnny Cash was, he is as human as anyone we'll ever know. I felt Johnny's pain as he lived in shame and guilt knowing that he was not living the way he knew his God wanted him to. This is a magnificently well written book about sin and redemption. Steve Turner's incredible amount of details make this book a great listen. My favorite line in the book is what Kris Kristofferson said about Johnny when he died: "He was Abraham Lincoln with a wild side". This is a book well worth listening to. It will make you take a deep look at yourself.

Honest, Clear, Man of Grace

So often we do not know the personal struggles of those we admire. That live in the “spot light. This book revealed a much deeper understanding of a great man. I am very grateful I was privileged to have listen to this book.

The Man called Cash

I enjoy hearing about Johnny Cash and was excited for this book. Rex Linn was an actor I was familiar with and liked so I thought a win. The book was filled with tons of information, a lot I hadn’t heard and once I became accustomed to Rex’s voice as the one doing the audio and “not acting with his voice”, it was enjoyable.

Provides a better understanding of the man Johnny Cash for the average fan

As a Johnny Cash fan for years I was not aware of the depth of his religious convictions that are pointed out throughout the narration of the book. I found the repeated use of scripture to be a bit much in describing the man but overall I enjoyed the story. I found the narrator’s voice to be uninspiring and came across like listening to someone reading a news paper article aloud for a group of people at a lecture on the life and religious calling of one John R Cash.
