Such a Great Story!

I had previously read this book with my oldest daughter, but when I came across the audiobook I was thrilled to share it with my younger girls. A strong young, female, adventurer isn’t something you read about often and it’s perfect for my girls.

Now all three of them can enjoy this great book, and find the wanderlust I hope they embrace.

Fun and Engaging

I enjoyed this book as much as my son did. All of the characters were well written, each with their own unique but realistic personality. Even minor characters who appeared in the story had fleshed-out backstories that added depth to their interactions with the lead characters. I’m used to background characters being fairly neglected and lifeless, so that was really refreshing, especially in a chapter book.

On another note, the author’s overall descriptiveness throughout the story made it easy to relate to the characters and to get caught up in their search for adventure. From the female lead's everyday life in the village with grandma to her journey with friends, every scene was alive with detail. That really helped to ground the story in reality and allow the magic of the tale to feel even more inviting.

A touching story on a Grandfather’s legacy

The story didn’t waste any time beginning. The story speaks about death and the grandfathers passing but makes the topic easy to relate to. Heart warming and emotionally connected, the story has left me feeling a little closer to those who I’ve lost.

This book was creative and very fun to read.

I Loved the attention to detail in this book.
The storyline is great as well and I love how it’s suitable for all ages. I Love mystical and adventure themed books so this one really peaked my interests.
The way the book is, makes it very suitable for young children to understand and relate to this book. (which I absolutely loved)
All the characters have their own personalities and the relationships between them are amazing.
I really enjoyed this whole book and whenever I read it I could imagine and picture everything perfectly! It’s genuinely now a favorite of mine.
I’d DEFINITELY show this book to my family and their kids!

Action-packed adventure, with a strong female lead

This book was a lot of fun to listen to on audible, the voice actor's performance kept me entertained with a variation of voices that they created for the characters in this book.

The story explores themes of grief and family values through a fun lens of magic, talking animals, and creative problem-solving. Our main character is a strong female lead who is freshly 12 years old. She sets out on an adventure with friends and her trustworthy German Shepard to find a magical land that her deceased grandfather was researching after finding his notes.

A perfect lighthearted story with important themes for kids and their families this holiday season. I was entertained and inspired by the author's note at the end of the book that expresses the 'why' behind his writing journey and how he hopes to inspire children to follow their dreams and choose kindness in a post-pandemic world.

So engaging!

I love how engaging this book was. Full of magical twists and great descriptions of the main characters. I really loved how one was made into a believer and the ending was great getting the grandmother on board. This would be a great series!

A Wonderful example for young girls!

I actually ended up really enjoying this book! I love how it showcased the diversity in parents because not every child is raised by their bio parents! Many grandparents take up the parental role and i think this was a beautiful representation of that! I enjoyed how it highlighted the care and love that parents have for their children, and how when they say no it is not because they don’t care, but because they worry about the safety of their loved ones. I also really loved how Grandma eventually caved and found a happy balance between her and Veracity when it came to safety and fears, and what Veracity felt in her heart she needed to do. It was a beautiful example of how a parent child relationship can be balanced with love, understanding, and giving up small amounts of control. I think this was also a really great example for younger girls, having a young female hero who travels to a magical land and saves the day! This is so important for the younger generation since the media is so critical of young women and has a male focused spotlight when it comes to movies and books! Overall i enjoyed this alot and will defintiely have my future children give it a try and well as my niece!

Intriguing and fun book

This book is fun and enganging from beginning to end! Its well written, very descriptive and it makes you feel like your right there in the adventure itself! This book is fun for adults as well as young teens to dive into fantasy land and go on adventure! Brandon narrates this book really well, from the voices of the charcters to the story line.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. It’s magical, adventurous, and exciting with a hint of mystery all rolled into one. Jack and Freddie and the rest of the characters were very well written.
