Story
The first story Selma Blair Beitner ever heard about herself is that she was a mean, mean baby. With her mouth pulled in a perpetual snarl and a head so furry it had to be rubbed to make way for her forehead, Selma spent years living up to her terrible reputation: biting her sisters, lying spontaneously, getting drunk from Passover wine at the age of seven, and behaving dramatically so that she would be the center of attention. In a memoir that is as wildly funny as it is emotionally shattering, Blair tells the captivating story of growing up and finding her truth.

UPDATED! Contains a chapter written in 2022 where the author talks about how she is doing now, aftert fourteen years with the high doses of vitamin D. "The Coimbra Protocol relies on doses of vitamin D that range from 40,000 IU to 200,000 IU per day." Mounting scientific evidence clearly shows that vitamin D has a powerful effect on autoimmune diseases, yet most doctors continue to prescribe no more than 1,000 IU or 2,000 IU a day to patients that suffer from such conditions. In this book, Ana Claudia Domene describes her experience with multiple sclerosis and the treatment that has ...

Story
Like many physicians, Dr. Terry Wahls focused on treating her patients' ailments with drugs or surgical procedures - until she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2000. Within three years, her back and stomach muscles had weakened to the point where she needed a tilt-recline wheelchair. Conventional medical treatments were failing her, and she feared that she would be bedridden for the rest of her life.

Best Physical Therapy help for MS I have ever had
Dr Gretchen really explains the ways that different body parts and symptoms are connected. I had gone through physical therapy before in person and my therapist was not an MS certified specialist - there is a huge difference. Dr G explains exercises that are so effective at getting my walking and stair climbing back to a normal state. Before I was diagnosed with this disease , I was a complete gym rat. This has been the first teaching / audio instructions that I am progressing back to walking and climbing stairs again. If you have MS or someone you love does, this book will help you more than you can imagine. This has helped me see the disease as just a period of time I needed to slow down and how to get myself to the next level.

Great Resource for Functional MS Exercises...
In her new book, The MSing Link, Gretchen Hawley shares the functional exercises she teaches in her own MS Physical Therapy practice. She breaks down these exercises into simple, easy-to-follow steps that can be incorporated into your daily routine.
Pictures of the exercises/stretches are included with the audio book in a PDF file - so when you're listening to Gretchen describing how to do the movements, you can view the pictures of the exercises at the same time.
After being told for years by numerous PTs that functional exercise and therapy won't address my MS symptoms, Dr. Gretchen's MSing Link program has given me a renewed sense of hope.
