Publisher's summary

A Romantic Times BOOKclub Top Pick, these three tales of undying love are set in different time periods, yet connected in the tumultuous tides around the mystical island of Kell, off the Scottish coast.

In 531 A.D., Prince Aedan finds himself washed ashore on the island of Kell, saved by a sensuous siren. In 1721, deadly, beautiful assassin Leila finds herself magically drawn to her next victim, Ronan MacMhuirich, Earl of Kell. In 2004, Ruri Kell agrees to sell her family island to Scottish professor Iain McInnes, but she soon discovers he's after more than her property.

I have always been fascinated by mermaid stories this one has a story to tell love that went through oceans of time.
the narrator was great I really enjoyed the accent and way she voiced the characters in this book.

More Imaginative Than Some, Ending Falls Flat

I bought this because I love mermaid stories. I didn't know it was a romance novel when I bought it. There were some spots I really didn't care for because they involved a female character refusing intimate attentions from a male character, and he just did what he wanted anyway and the female character went along with it. No means no.
The plot was fast-paced and more imaginative than some, and character development was good for the most part. I did not like the ending- it felt stilted and rushed, like the writer was trying to cram in a lot of material into a limited number of pages. And I didn't really understand the whole "locket" and "lost souls" device... I really enjoyed the first two stories but the last one just didn't ring true for me.

Eternal love. Eternal legend

At first I wasn't sold. the first 15 minutes of this book were meh. As the story evolved though I was hooked completely. it expertly weaves legend with romance and love and fairy tale. so much so that I actually purchased a hardcover copy of the book to keep on my shelf. I've recommended it to all of my friends. all three stories will capture you and hold tight. I cannot say enough good things about it. and the narrator's performance? superb. in the first story she captures the certain OTHERNESS of Ione and the frustration of Aiden. she subtly curls her words when Laila speaks in the second. all the way up to the very end...just a wonderful experience!!
