Publisher's summary

The Tudor court is full of endless opportunities for power, love, and...destruction.

Elizabeth Seymour is the unimportant daughter of a country knight, until her sister catches the eye of the king. As her family is swept up in the changing politics of the realm, they seem to be climbing higher and higher. Everything is within reach, but it all hinges on Jane giving the king what he wants: a son.

Elizabeth makes a gamble of her own. But danger seems to dog her every step, and she sees firsthand how hard it is to play the courtly game of politics. It only gets worse when the man you choose to marry is the son of the most powerful man in England.

Book four of the Royal Court series but can be enjoyed as a stand-alone book.

Featuring the return of Margaret Douglas (Lady's Ambition) and many others....

Very enjoyable read

I loved this book, as it was about the supporting people who you’d only see briefly mentioned in a book about the king, queen.

Sometimes our lives gets busy/stressful - and you just need a nice read. No twisting plots, murders or hard story lines to follow. Just a book about events, people and general atmosphere of the time period. I appreciated this book very much under that understanding.

The speaker had a smooth and gentle voice to match the tone and pace of this book.

I personally thought it was very well put together.

Great book!

This book was fantastic and time just flew by because my husband and I couldn't wait for the plot to unfold.
Yes, I understand that this is historical fiction and we all know how this ends, but it is in the telling of the tale that the characters are"fleshed out" and come alive.
