On 30th January 1933, Adolf Hitler was appointed the German chancellor of a coalition government by President Hindenburg. Within a few months he had installed a dictatorship, jailing and killing his left-wing opponents, terrorising the rest of the population and driving Jews out of public life.

He embarked on a crash programme on militaristic Keynesianism, reviving the economy and achieving full employment through massive public works, vast armaments spending and the cancellations of foreign debts. Excellent two books series

Would highly recommend. Brings the era to life and excellent easy to listen to narration which makes you want to come back for more

Bravo

I will point out one aspect of this audiobook which I regret to say makes it unique among books I’ve listened to recently. THE NARRATOR CORRECTLY PRONOUNCES THE WORDS IN IT! (Even “EVA BRAUN” - surname pronounced “Brown.”) This should be a given but you know that it’s becoming unusual to the extent that it’s almost unheard of these days. For this alone I give the book five stars.

Nothing new here

Didn't learn anything new from this book. Read Rise and Fall of the Third Reich by William Shirer. Still the greatest account of the Nazis ever written.
