But John finds that the adage "things just to sheep" is true when the river floods, coyotes attack, and one dog's feet get cut. Through it all he must rely on his own resourcefulness, ingenuity, and talents to survive this summer in the haymeadow.

This is a calming disaster.
The reader matched the character I think very well. The story line felt like it was very possible. There was lack and pain. There was solving and calm , beauty and excitement.

Hard to hear
Narrator talks too quiet, and too LOUD. if you want hearing loss it's a great book. I do not recommend it's a waste of money because of the narrator

A short fantastic survival story!
I loved the story and the narrator was wonderful! However, whoever produced or edited this book seriously hindered it by overlaying loud music that drowned out the narrator. I could still hear him but I had to turn up the volume quite a bit in the car.
