Publisher's summary

Number one business best seller (Wall Street Journal, Amazon, USA Today

The Great Devaluation may be one of the most timely books ever written on the state of the global economy. Baratta sums it up simply enough with the following idea: "What seems crazy in normal times becomes necessary in a crisis."

The Great Devaluation is the number one best-selling book that explains why the real crisis facing the world today is not the coronavirus. The real crisis facing the world is explosive government debt and deficits. Governments are now left with no choice but to spend more than they make, borrow more than they can ever repay, and devalue their currencies to cover it all up.

Former Hollywood storyteller Adam Baratta brings monetary policy to life in this follow-up to his national best seller Gold Is a Better Way. You'll learn how and why Federal Reserve polices have facilitated an explosion in government debt and have systematically undermined the world financial system in the name of profit. The result? An out-of-control system where financial inequality has become a ticking time bomb set to blow up the global economy.

Fear mongering

Entertaining read. A lot of the presentation looks to be based off Ray Dalio and his description of debt super cycles. The thought that gold bugs will inherit the earth seems a little flimsy. The writer is an entertainer, and the book was entertaining, but I wouldn’t take that advice and allocate funds towards it.

The Ability to See Through The Gov’s Steady Diet of Lies

I’m 24 years old, I’m working 2 jobs to pay for my masters degree (as bachelors are slowly becoming devalued) rather than take out a loan I’ll never be able to pay off. Prior to reading this book homeownership and other non-paper investment plans seemed ludicrously out of reach for me.

I am now looking into to the future with renewed eyes as I can now clearly understand what has happened in the past. I am now able to plan and (to an extent) predict the US economy more meticulously and prepare myself for the coming storm while staying a float. This book is terrifying and stimulating as it absolutely should be.

The world needs to read this book.

Another Message from the Dark Side.

Really nothing new that many of us conspiracy buffs have known for 20 years. However, the guy is a gifted screenwriter and he claims to be a former actor. Many of us have little bots, YouTube channels, and letters concerning the Great Tribulation. Take your pick and maybe it'll be sooner than you think. 2023? Only chink in the armor is, when the government outlaws gold, silver, and cryptocoin. What's left?

Heard Some of It Before

I've heard some of this before so I only gave it four stars . But there are some things I haven't heard before, and that makes it a worthwhile listen.

The narration performance is very good.

It is knowledge I enjoyed it

It is knowledge I enjoyed it. I would recommend it. Especially if the economy is your thing. It breaks a lot of stuff down in the most simplest ways.

A very plausible future scenario. A good read for anyone who has a reasonable amount of investments.

Conclusions are naturally debatable, but hypothesis are well researched and documented. This has caused me to definitely evaluate my current investments. This book has delved much deeper than any I have read on the subject. Author provides excellent “grounding” which include relevant historical examples for his conclusions, which greatly improve his credibility. This book has definitely “got me thinking!”

Perfect for anyone to understand!

Perfectly structured content, & super excellent narration. Amazing how someone who’s not an economist can explain things so much easier & patiently, & perfectly worded.
Massive massive respect. Not my 1st bk on this topic, but this author totally nailed it.
