Each woman chose to use lethal force to gain power, safety, and freedom when the institutions meant to protect them—government, police, courts—utterly failed to do so. Each woman has been criticized for their actions by those who believe that violence is never the answer.

Beautiful account of three women’s fascinating stories

This book was captivating and beautifully written. Elizabeth does a fabulous job of telling the inspiring yet complicated stories of three women who fought for justice.

Shocking

The atrocities women around the world face just for being a woman are unimaginable. And I realize that being a woman in the US is probably best case scenario. But hearing of the oppression women face just over my state line is infuriating. This book left me angry. And sad. But it also shone a bright light on issues we all, male or female, should be fighting against. Thank you for sharing these women’s stories.
