Short but sweet

Is this essential for those who want to know more about Jane and Beast? No. But it was fun to listen to. Would I recommend it. Yes, for nosey busy bodies like me. Most of what is in here is in the series.

In this one Jane does have a bit of a Southern accent which I expected.

Phooey, go ahead and buy it. You want to. I did. And it was fun!

so much backstory

This short story covers a lot of the past for Jane and Beast. Unlike WeSa and the Lumber King, we have both POVs.

Great flashback of first change.

Also a part of the "Cat o' Nine Tales" collection. A great short story of Jane leaving the children's home and her first change into Beast.

I loved it!

I loved it!

This was such a surprise. I found these books and thought they were just more stories about Jane in New Orleans. I had no idea what a treasure trove I had found and what I was in for. I was so happy at the end of my first book to find that these were stories of Jane’s history and how some of her backstories played out that are just referenced throughout the series. I also enjoyed hearing the stories from Molly’s perspective. It was money and time well spent.

Getting to know who Jane Yellow Rock Doe is

Like the title says, The Early Years. Slowly, but surely we are starting to understand her. Though her background is illusive, some of the pieces of who she is are being revealed.

Jane finds Beast

If you could sum up The Early Years in three words, what would they be?

Ending, discovery, rebirth

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jane is a strong innocent with her past behind amnesia. She protects the innocent.

Have you listened to any of Khristine Hvam’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The artist does an excellent job.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Very sad when Jane had to leave the children's home and these she protected.

Any additional comments?

Short novellas like a chapter in a book telling how Jane discovered beast within her.
