Publisher's summary

A living tradition of nature spirituality rooted in Celtic antiquity and revived to meet the challenges of contemporary life, Druidry offers people a path of harmony through reconnection with the green Earth. The Druidry Handbook is the first hands-on manual of traditional British Druid practice that explores the Sun Path of seasonal celebration, the Moon Path of meditation, and the Earth Path of living in harmony with nature as tools for crafting an earth-honoring life here and now. From ritual and meditation to nature awareness and ecological action, John Michael Greer opens the door to a spirituality rooted in the living Earth.

Featuring a mix of philosophy, rituals, spiritual practice, and lifestyle issues, The Druidry Handbook is one-stop shopping for those seriously interested in practicing a traditional form of Druidry. It offers equal value to eclectics and solitary practitioners eager to incorporate more earth spirituality into their own belief system and also appeals to the merely curious.

Worth a listen

This provides some pretty good insights into Druidry and the Celtic way of spirituality generally. It can get a little zany, but not in a dogmatic way (and anyway, which tradition doesn’t have its zaniness?) One annoying thing is twice he singles out vegetarians for scorn for our supposed dogmatism, and he kind of downplays the profound ecological benefits of not eating animals. Some jerky vegetarians must have been pretty rude to the author. Too bad. Overall I came away with some good stuff.

Ok book for AODA members. Not good as an audiobook.

The book has some good information that can be used by anyone pursuing the Druid way. But, is geared more towards those who are joining/have joined the Ancient Order of Druids in America (AODA). If you’re not planning on joining the AODA then I would look elsewhere for a good Druid book/guide.

DO NOT BUY THE AUDIOBOOK. This book has a lot of material that one would most likely want to reference again later. Since it is an audiobook, it becomes nearly impossible to use it in this way. So, if you want to buy this book, buy a physical copy, instead.
