Publisher's summary

Best-selling, award-winning author Beverly Lewis pens inspiring novels filled with hope, courage, and compelling truths. In this engaging tale, she reveals the warmth, uncomplicated lifestyle, and sometimes dark side of the Amish people of Pennsylvania's Lancaster County.

Journalist Philip Bradley can't forget Rachel Yoder, the blind Amish woman he met while on assignment in Pennsylvania. He is determined to find a cure for her and to get to know her better. But before Rachel can move on in her life, she must first confront traumatic memories. Can their growing love survive the vast gulf between their different worlds and Rachel's agonizing road to recovery?

A gifted storyteller, Beverly Lewis draws on her childhood in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country and her mother's Amish family heritage to create realistic situations. Narrator Barbara Caruso vividly brings to life Rachel's setbacks and victories as the young woman struggles to move from the darkness into the light.

Story good but narrator not

The narrator made this hard to listen to. She went from soft to loud and when the soft was loud enough some parts were too loud. Irritating.

Portrayal o Pennsylvania Dutch and God's faithfulness

Beverly Lewis writes a beautiful description of Lancaster, PA. She shows three dimensional characters and insight into the spiritual war against the spirit of darkness's . She continues to demonstrate the faithfulness of God.in the lives of the New York writer and the plain, blind , young widow with her little girl.

OUTSTANDING

You MUST read “The Postcard” first, or you will truly be cheating yourself of this wonderful story. I promise, you won’t be disappointed. There is a 3rd book to the Trilogy...which is in error listed separately on Audible. Can’t wait to read it. So far, all I can say is EXCELLENCE.

Like a TV evangelist

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No. I got the message the purpose was to preach to me rather than tell a story. I appreciate the religion being more subtle rather than literally shoved at me over and over.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Beth Wiseman books. Until now Ms Lewis has been my favorite author of Amish books. After this book, I won't be purchasing one of her books for quite some time,.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

She did a fine job

Do you think The Crossroad needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No
