Publisher's summary

Young wizards Eynon and Merry suddenly have to cope with a huge, scaly, ill-tempered fire-breathing problem allied with their worst enemy.

“What. Is. That?” asked Merry.

“Fly higher,” shouted Nûd from the back of his wyvern.

Merry and Eynon were side by side on their flying disks, hovering close by. The wyvern was already following Nûd’s recommendation and gaining altitude. Eynon and Merry did likewise until they were 100 feet up and could witness the terrifying scene unfolding below.

The floor of the quarry buckled and split, revealing a huge, green-scaled monstrosity. Rocks from the quarry floor were sliding off the beast’s back, crashing down into piles of jagged stone. A cloud of greenish dust rose from the quarry as boulders the size of milk cows sailed skyward, tossed up by snapping layers of stone.

Then, the great beast’s long neck came free, releasing a wedge-shaped head with a mouth large enough to swallow them all in one bite and teeth the size of scimitars. The head moved left and right, using long-dormant muscles. Intelligent dark green eyes with vertical black pupils blinked in the sunlight. Their depths seemed to spin in a hypnotic pattern.

“Well,” said the great green dragon. “Is it time?”

very upbeat

Great listen. The good guys are a little too goody goody but other than that, it is a satisfying story.

Hard to finish

I found this book to be sappy and annoying and too predictable The writing was unsophisticated, almost juvenile and the narrator made it sound like happy story-time in every scene. That, combined with the constant sexual innuendo made it a difficult book to finish. I only made it to the end because the story itself had a tiny bit of potential and I am a tiny bit 'OCD'.

Interesting story if you can get past the narrator

I really wanted to hear the rest of the story but cannot get past the perv uncle sound of the narrator.

I was hoping for more

they seem to keep getting cheesier and cheesier, this book had a lot of unnecessary passages that added nothing to the story I was disappointed because I thought it had potential to be a lot better but i guess theres still a lot of cool stuff in there I'll still listen to the next one

Finishing your enemies is very important.

We don't need more Batmans we need more Deadpools

Honestly I like most of the book with one huge exception if you don't kill your enemies they will come back and kill you and your loved ones Yes this book does not have a lot of Death in it, that's not the point not neutralizing an enemy is the great sin of most writers they can't seem to lose an important character. Everyone should take lessons from Shakespeare and other great writers that killing somebody off is not a bad thing. It often is the single best way to forward a plot and by not doing it you make the story dull and repetitive Very easy to predict And feels lacsidasical yes if you leave one great evil that is extremely hard to kill it often helps the story to move forward.

It lost focus

I really enjoyed the first book in this Siries but the second book was manageable. I think reason I lost intrest is that the story go to many characters to focus on. And it would annoy me.
