Publisher's summary

Anty Boisjoly tackles the strange case of a war hero who visits his old friends on Christmas morning—after being murdered on Christmas Eve.

In The Case of the Ghost of Christmas Morning, Wodehousian clubman, flaneur, idler, and sleuth Anty Boisjoly pits his sardonic wits against another pair of impossible murders. This time, Anty Boisjoly’s Aunty Boisjoly is the only possible suspect when a murder victim stands his old friends a farewell drink at the local, hours after being murdered.

Like The Case of the Canterfell Codicil, The Case of the Ghost of Christmas Morning fits the narrow literary needs of those who feel that Lord Peter Wimsey isn’t frivolous enough or that Blandings Castle could stand a few more baffling murders.

even better as an audio book

The author's lively prose comes to life with Bruce's performance. Anthony comes to the rescue and saves his Aunt Azelea who is suspected of the murder of a WWI flying ace. Christmas cheer is deeply imbibed and you may want a toddy at your elbow when you listen to this engaging and amusing tale. highly recommended

So much fun

Unadulterated silliness from start to finish! The story is clever, the characters are endearing, and the word play is never stops.

Dare I say?

Dare I say this is a masterful job by author and narrator? Yes, by golly, I DO say! Not since I first encountered P.G. Wodehouse and Bertie Wooster many years ago have I laughed as long and as loudly. That cow! And that Christmas Carol nearly done me in! Warning: do not listen to the tale of Anty's rendering of this song while others are sleeping nearby - I had to flee to the guest room!
Finding (and, good gracious) maintaining this tone is truly amazing in this day and age and nothing short of wonderful! Both the writing and the narration are pitch perfect. PJ Fitzsimmons and Tim Bruce, I would like to shake your hands and join you for a dinner party. Thank you for a delightful Christmas in June.
P.S.: For those who care about the actual mystery involved, it is of course, very secondary and very silly, but sound when you go back to think about the clues. No one but Anty could possibly find this solution, but that is part of the fun. Write on! And Narrate on! Tjos was my second outing with Anty Boisjoly, and I eagerly anticipate more.

Captivating story and excellent narrator

Another very interesting story about the mysteries solving of Anty. Full of twists and turns, and this one has me guessing who why how. The narrator was wonderful too, bringing out the charm and cleverness of Anty. I look forward to book 3.

Not as mysterious as the first book, but as funny

The mystery part of the book was less puzzling that I like my mysteries, but I enjoyed listening to it all the same.

Just as good as number 1

Same greatness as the first book. Not sure what some of these other reviews are saying. The one liners hit perfect each time!

Loved this silly story

With no pages to turn back in order to try to figure out who was whom, I plowed ahead and became dizzyingly confused, but thoroughly entertained at the same time, as this improbable tale unfolded. Maybe I’ll listen again, but most likely I’d be baffled anew. The point is to join in the merry lunacy and not to try to analyze it. Or even make sense of it as you might in a regular whodunit mystery. This is different. It has a set of war heroes, various would-be opportunists, a cozy bar, a scenic snow-covered village, whose mascot is a charming little cow, and a pair of brutal and peculiar murders. Not bad! On to the next in the series!

Witty and Fun

Lots of unexpected twists in this one! Fast-paced, entertaining, and at times it was laugh-out-loud amusing!
