In 1857, a woman escaped enslavement on a North Carolina plantation and fled to a farm in New York. In hiding, she worked on a manuscript that would make her famous long after her death. The novel, The Bondwoman’s Narrative, was first published in 2002 to great acclaim, but the author’s identity remained unknown. Over a decade later, Professor Gregg Hecimovich unraveled the mystery of the author’s name and, in The Life and Times of Hannah Crafts, he finally tells her story.

Sales is a skill anyone can learn and master - and introverts are especially good at it once they learn how to leverage their natural strengths. Introverts aren't comfortable with traditional tactics like aggressively pushing a product or talking over a customer's objections. That's the beauty of The Introvert's Edge: it doesn't focus on the sale itself but on a sales system that helps introverts feel sincere instead of sales-y.

Story
Born to one of Verona's leading families, Catullus spent most of his young adulthood in Rome, mingling with the likes of Caesar and Cicero and chronicling his life through his poetry. Famed for his lyrical and subversive voice, his poems about his friends were jocular, often obscenely funny, while those who crossed him found themselves skewered in raunchy verse, sudden objects of hilarity and ridicule. These bawdy poems were disseminated widely throughout Rome.

Hannah is having a bad day. A bad month. A bad year? That feels terrible to admit, since her son Jack was born just eight months ago and she loves him more than anything. But ever since his harrowing birth, she can’t shake the feeling that it could have gone the other way. That her baby might not have made it. Terrifying visions of the different paths her life could have taken begin to disrupt her cozy, claustrophobic days with Jack, destabilizing her marriage and making her husband concerned for her mental health.

Cliffhanger
If I would have known it was a cliffhanger, I would have waited till the next book and read them in sequence. Otherwise, an interesting tale, if not a little windy with all the pompous dialogue.

Redemption for the last book!
I have been a Pendergast fan from the beginning with Relic. Until Crimson Shore came along. Then the stories seemed to go downhill. Then came Bloodless. Time traveling giant mosquitoes? Yes the other stories had some odd quirk but they were “believable “ in a fictional sense. But Bloodless was just stupid. Anyway the Cabinet of Dr. Leng redeemed the series of Agent Pendergast. Yes it is a two part book series and I am anxiously awaiting the second book. The narrator was excellent. Gentlemen you have won my heart back.
