Publisher's summary

Gavin Guile is dying.

He’d thought he had five years left - now he has less than one. With 50,000 refugees, a bastard son, and an ex-fiancée who may have learned his darkest secret, Gavin has problems on every side. All magic in the world is running wild and threatens to destroy the Seven Satrapies.

Worst of all, the old gods are being reborn, and their army of color wights is unstoppable. The only salvation may be the brother whose freedom and life Gavin stole 16 years ago.

Great series. Loved the voices and performance my only con is the background music was too loud at times.

Great Book!

Loved the story! Kip and the Black Guards were my favorite. Background noise was a bit louder than the voices. I had to really focus hard to hear what was said. I would recommend this book.

Better than expected

The overall story was amazing. As far as audio went they didn’t balance the background noise well with the voice actors so sometimes they got drowned out. Otherwise a really good book.

Weird editing choice

I usually love these. The first book in the series was so well done and this book SHOULD have been even better. Every performance is on point. The story is excellent. Then they decided to take a great performance by the narrator and render it with a weird effect that makes them sound robotic. It’s incredibly off-putting and ruins the whole thing.

I thought maybe it was a corrupted file, but I checked on graphic audios homepage and same thing in their sample. Shame really, hiding a great voice actor behind a ruinous effect making it borderline unbearable. Should’ve just skipped this one and moved on to book 3.
