Packed full of information

The author was very well versed on the subject. At times it was a bit overwhelming with information, but I appreciated the completeness of the topics. I will need to listen to it all again a couple of times to truely benefit from it. Extremely thourough! I give it a thumbs up.

SUSAN! OH MY GOD! WTF?!

Normally I don't like reading reviews about how awful a narrator is, because I know it can sway someone into NOT purchasing a particular audiobook, (especially when there's multiple reviews about it) when it's all just a matter of OPINION. Someone may not try a book when otherwise, if they would have, it could have really, truly helped them or just been something they loved. HOWEVER....
I'm going to be a total hypocrite here because SERIOUSLY.... I have NEVER heard anything like this. I highly recommend ALL authors "audition" the individuals wanting to read their work for the recording of an audiobook.
This book's subject matter is CHAKRAS.... The word "chakra" appears in (what feels like) every sentence! I'm sorry, I don't mean to be offensive, but this narrator is unnecessarily adding some strange emphasis to every Sanskrit word almost as if she feels like she must add an accent simply because they are words originating outside her native language. This results in the most obnoxious pronunciation of "CH-AK!-ruhs"... The narrator would be excellent and probably even desirable to listen to if this weren't the case... Honestly, it's too bad because I guarantee there has been and will be people who hear her say this word One time, and immediately want a refund. It honestly could be very easy to feel as though she's being disrespectfully sarcastic...like she's making fun of the subject matter. I personally don't feel like this is the case, but people really should be more mindful of selecting narrators - they are representing the author and the hard work of the author...

Eastern Perspective Better Understood

This is very informative from the Eastern perspective. It is interesting to hear the history and folklore of the chakras, their deities, their benefits, and abilities to affect our lives. It helps to have pictorial representations as there is no accompanying PDF to this selection. I found myself looking up a lot of the chakras and corresponding deities as they were being discussed. Great meditation practices in the last few chapters. Very comprehensive.
