Publisher's summary

The complete Blood Series - All three books plus the Prequel: It's in the Blood - Book One: Destroyer's Blood - Book Two: First Blood and Book Three: Time for Blood all together in one audiobook.

From Book One:

"Blood is mightier than the Sword.

Dev is a Master Thief, the son of Prometheus, and a bad-boy with a talking magic sword called Betrayer.

Newly named the Protector of Men by his Titan father, he and Tray prefer to stay far away from Olympus and the squabbles of the Gods. That is until Hermes interrupts them as they climb up Half-Dome with an urgent summons from Zeus.

Before he can finish, his body is torn to shreds by their Enemy...the Destroyer".

"Dev shook his head, spitting out dust and rock chips. The last rays of the setting sun stained the ground crimson. "Betrayer", he murmured, ears still ringing from the terrific explosion, "we have a problem".

The cryptic message from Olympus changes everything...One moment Devcalion and Betrayer are free, climbing up Half Dome without a care in the world, the next they are dragged into battle with the Destroyer, Zeus's ancient foe.

The Dark Power is merciless, and time is running out. It's up to Dev and Tray to try to stop him, or the world of men and gods is doomed".

A long, bloody story

I've had trouble with this one because it originally had the name Devacalion instead of Devcalion.

"Dev is a Master Thief, the son of Prometheus." This is a story with the Greek Gods. There's a lot of destruction throughout the series, and the names of the gods come up a lot. Also, all the characters are very powerful, able to fly around and easily destroy most things.

All a bit too overpowered for my tastes. But well done for what it is.

A Blood-Soaked Adventure!

Michael Lynes weaves an epic tale of gods, titans, and a bad-boy thief named Dev in "The Adventures of Devcalion: The Complete Blood Series". David Bosco's narration adds depth to the already rich and vividly drawn world, and with all three books plus a prequel in one audiobook, this is a must-listen for fans of the fantasy genre. Don't miss out on this award-winning series that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

Kind of different

This was an interesting listen that I took a chance on because it was a vampire story but I fully recommend it

Interesting New Take on Greek Gods

In this tale, we see the greek gods under a new light and in the modern day. Their pettiness and scheming certainly carries on from the old legends. Honestly, as they are physically able to be killed almost as easily as a mortal, I kept wondering how any of them managed survived thousands of years of trying to kill each other. In any case, they are here, plotting and scheming, and overall not terribly likeable creatures. We follow Devcalion and his companions through a series of increasingly dangerous struggles which may determine the fate of the world. Although I didn't find myself getting very emotionally invested in any of the major characters, they were written competently and in a manner that gives them an individual and autonomous feel. Some, choosing to be little more than a petulant child for thousands of years *cough* Zeus *cough*. Overall, this three-book compendium is certainly worth the credit to purchase.

Narration was done with clear and apparant effort. This is my first experience with this narrator and he offers several voice styles to distinguish who is speaking. Hermes in particular is good for at least a smirk. There is also some production work to create atmosphere for some voices (not going to spoil it here). I will say that I ended up speeding up playback to about 1.2x, something I don't think I have ever done before, and I felt it really improved pacing of the listen for me. So it is something you may consider if the pace of narration seems a bit slow for you on default speed.

GREAT SERIES!

I really enjoyed this series. There was plenty of action, drama, humor and romance! This was a great fantasy book and very imaginative. The narration was great and kept me entertained. The author did a great job with the character builds and plot. This was my first book by this author but definitely not my last! I look forward to reading more of his books.
