Mixed Feelings

I guess this sort of helps. Everything sounds like generally good advice. I mean it applies to more than dating, so some of the ideas seem like common sense. Though it is good that it is placed in a dating context or else it isn't so obvious that is probably the most appropriate way to behave. I would say, a lot of the advice seems more opionated rather than fact based. So the book is more of a general guide and not a well researched statistically proven guide to dating. If you like the other person and they like you, and there are no red flags, then don't worry about feeling self conscious about dating. in the end it is about positive emotion. Then again, I don't know anything about relationships, so don't listen to me.

mixed bag but overall helpful, give a read.

often I found myself a little amazed how this book is really just a woman's concept. very little to address how men think. but she is helpful in the shared views and right on. I am not a huge fan because this is very California narssacist LA LA land at times . perhaps though you might read it shouldn't hurt, unless you buy into a man should be a servant to his over needy women beyond cherishing her loving her and stepping up.

The biggest mistake would be listing to this book

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If she had done any research other than her friends or her own experience. Also the book should have been recoded by a professional in a studio.

Has The 10 Biggest Mistakes Men Make in Dating and Love Relationships turned you off from other books in this genre?

I am note sure anyone could have done a worse job if they were trying.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The book sounds like she recorded it in her bathroom. I could even hear dogs in the background many times throughout the book. The way she reads the book is very off-putting like she is talking down to you. Her voice is one of the most annoying nagging voices I have ever heard.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

None what so ever.

Any additional comments?

All of her 10 mistakes are common sense. She contradicts herself throughout the book. She continually goes back to what she wants and doesn't want in her own relationships. She said she was writing this when she was getting a divorce and it feels like the whole book is just a rant against men. She actually advises that the reader should buy the TV series "The Millionaire Matchmaker." If you are looking for someone that is a gold digger then that show is for you. She references this show throughout the book. She does not site any studies, research, or data that supports any of her advise and she quotes from other authors a lot. The last 15 to 20 minutes of the book she is reading right from another authors book. This has got to be one of the worst self help books I have ever listen to or read.
