Publisher's summary

Two audiobooks in one volume: Temple Secrets (1000+ reviews) and Gullah Secrets

Temple Secrets

A town held together with secrets. A wealthy widow looking for an heir. One choice could shame high society into submission.

Eighty-year-old Southern aristocrat Iris Temple’s health may be failing, but her wit is as sharp as ever. Before she joins her ancestral ghosts, she must pick an heir to take over her sprawling estate - and the book of secrets that's kept her family in power for generations. But between her scheming son, her estranged daughter who abandoned Savannah years ago, and her illegitimate half-sister, she’s working with slim pickings.

If you like Southern humor, headstrong women, and twisty mysteries, then you’ll love Temple Secrets, a compelling tale of an unconventional inheritance.

Gullah Secrets

A family legacy in danger. A stranger in their midst. Do they have the strength to survive the gathering storm of secrets? For the Temple women, the winds of change are blowing. And if they’re not careful, it could sweep them all away....

With a storm of trouble brewing across the island, the Temple women will have to survive more than a force of nature to put their ghosts to rest.

Enjoy Gullah Secrets, the sequel to the best-selling novel Temple Secrets and a hilarious and warmhearted saga.

Beautiful book

I really enjoyed this book. History can be upsetting but the love for family really made up for it.

Interesting

The storyline in both books was interesting, but so much reputation of information. The second book has even more, some would be needed to help a reader remember the first book. If thinking about just the books, minus the constant repeating of information, it’s leaves a pleasant and fond memory

Riveting

I started listening and didn’t want to stop. Loved the characters personalities and injections of humor. You feel part of the story, and being from the south it was spot on. Reminded me of Midnight in the garden of good and evil...

Fabulous Series!!

Loved these 2 stories combining the best and worst of the South - old and new, black and white. A story of perserverance and love.

Very good!

The story was wonderful and I really enjoyed the narration. There were areas that the story was a little redundant and I wished the author would have taken that opportunity to give more background on characters but, it was a great historical listen. Can’t wait until the third book comes out!

Story about family and friendship and the power of love

I loved this sprawling generational story about the families we choose to build for ourselves. The narration was beautiful and the characters were voiced so vividly. Highly recommend.

It was ok

It’s a nice story, however it could have been condensed quite a bit. A LOT of repetition of the same information over and over that made it too drawn out. Also odd to not know much about the secrets when that’s what the whole book was about. But a cute easy listen I suppose!

Be prepared to skip chapters

Brutal. Very repetitious. I really enjoyed the first book and eagerly looked forward to the second. However, I found myself skipping chapters and not missing a single piece of the storyline. I am hesitant to listen to the third and final book for these very reasons. Sorely disappointed.

Not even going to try listening...

...after being so disappointed with the Wildflower (starting with the 2nd book) trilogy. I am sure that these "secrets" will go against my values as well. If I am mistaken, I apologize... I'm just sick of having alternative lifestyles being forced down my throat!
