Publisher's summary

Whit and Wisty Allgood have sacrificed everything to lead the resistance against the merciless totalitarian regime that governs their world. Its supreme leader, The One Who Is The One, has banned everything they hold dear: books, music, art, and imagination. But the growing strength of the siblings' magic hasn't been enough to stop the One's evil rampage, and now he's executed the only family they had left.

Wisty knows that the time has finally come for her to face The One. But her fight and her fire only channel more power to this already invincible being. How can she and Whit possibly prepare for their imminent showdown with the ruthless villain that devastated their world-before he can truly become all-powerful?

In this stunning third installment of the epic Witch & Wizard series, the stakes have never been higher - and the consequences will change everything.

GREAT LISTEN

The narration was superb. I found myself getting really caught up in the story visualizing and truly disliking some of the characters. This must be what it was like years ago to gather round the radio and listen to the weekly series. Another great listen from Patterson and Dembowski.

Worth the listen

What did you love best about Witch & Wizard: The Fire?

It was a very exciing, compelling story that moved quickly, was different than anything I have read before and highlights the value of a loving family and good friends.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Whit healed Wisty and realized he had the gift of healing, and they shared Christmas with Pearl Marie's family and remembered how much they still had.

Any additional comments?

This is the third and final book in a trilogy that takes the classic struggle of good and evil to another level. Brother and sister team Wisteria and Whitford Allgood learn they are gifted in ways they never imagined. Wisty is a Witch and Whit is a Wizzard, and those closest to them are disapearing. They learn abruptly when The One Who is The One and his followers appear in their home one night (in the first book) to arrest them. They escape but their parents do not. Whit learns that his girlfriend, Celia, who had gone missing several months before, was taken to get to him and Wisty, and she was tortured and killed and now exists in the Shadow Lands. She makes occasional appearances to save the siblings from life and death situations because a prophecy identifies them as the only hope for defeating a The One, who is a Hitler-like dictator. The One is obsessed with capturing the Allgood children alive because he wants to posess their gifts. There are death squads throughout the land seeking to destroy creativity. Children seem to be the ones mainly targeted. Wisty and Whit join the resistance, a group of children who try to fight the suprnatural forces of evil. I won't tell you how good overcomes evil, because that is too much of a spoiler, but good does triumph. It is an amazing story and well told. Character development is excellent and the author mixes humor into the horror to keep it compelling. The narrators were well chosen to tell the story. Their voices are filled with passion, emotion and are very easy to listen to. I highly recommend this entire series.

disjointed and lacking

The whole story felt disjointed and lacking in substance with skips in time without the how or where at times.

Don’t waste your money

I wish I could go back in time and undo the purchase of this series. WORST series EVER!!! Writing was bad (surprising for this author), narrators were horrible, and the storyline was a bad version of Harry Potter meets the Hunger games. Don’t do it!

Written by a 13 year old girl.

What disappointed you about Witch & Wizard: The Fire?

The story, plot, dialogue, and descriptions all seem to be written by a teenager. Slang like "rock out" and other teenage rebellion imagry distracted from the overall story. A couple of times during the story I had to stop becuase I was loosing interest in the dialogue.

Any additional comments?

I was excited to listen to Elijah Wood read James Patterson...very disapointing. The readers did OK with a sub par script.

Less than what I anticipated.

The first book was good. I thought this one would be as good but it was not.

This series is a gem!

James Patterson is always amazing, but this series has been having me on the edge of my seat. I’ve read the actual, hard books for the other books in this series, but the audio was nicely done. I was pleasantly surprised!
